Vent all you like. Hoping the perpetrators have heart enough to be moved is in vain, however; they are far more likely to take offense at your insults, as you've offered more of that and less of anything that might appeal to their imagined mercy or guilt.

What's more, it does not sound as if you've accepted this as a circumstance that you alone could have avoided. Owning your own critical role here is important.

To quote the drill instructor from the film FMJ, when speaking to the Marine recruit who left his footlocker unlocked: If it weren't for assholes like [the careless Marine recruit] there wouldn't be any thieves in this world.

Another military reference that applies is the difference in being a "hard" or a "soft" target.

Worth Googling... when you get the chance.

Crooks, mean people, and other unpleasantness are rather like forces of nature. You can yell and shake your fist at the clouds, or you simply storm-proof your stuff a little better for the next time.

It makes no difference to me either way. I merely thought to offer you a more mentally sound and realistic perspective to consider, nothing more. If your approach seems the better to you, feel free. It changes nothing.

I am sorry I do not feel sorry for you it sucks I know I have had things stolen from me before from a locked vehicle and it was hidden under the seat. Your laptop is long gone your not going to get it back people steal shit all the time and if you wanna be mad at anyone be mad at the system they are the one's who will just give them a slap on the wrist and let em go! I dont care if you still bacon a theif is a theif and they should lock their asses up because this is the reason everything keeps going up for the honest people but you need to be thankful that it was not money or anything that belonged to your daughter there are far more worse things than a stolen lap top and not one of them idiots from that side of town gives a rat ass about no one this is freaking Ballard the eye sore of richmond. All the trash lives there and sadly enough they probably did sell it to get a fix so I can tell ya the one who stole it has already gotten rid of it!

Just because a door is not locked, does NOT give some pillhead thief the right to open it and take something that does NOT belong to them. You idiots must be on pills to say that they do. It's still wrong, and it's still against the law.
