when are the names going to be posted. I am reading all forums & see nothing but politics. what about posting names, parade them down main st. or something. they broke the law. I don't care how old they are or how many sad situations they came from. we could tell you the story before they open their mouths. always in pain, need money & not able to work. kids have to leave daddy without a hug. need I go on. they need to all get off theit lazy butts & go to work. don't bring another child up to follow in their foot steps.

Why should people who get pain medication for their own personal use be arrested? Apparently you have never been in constant, severe pain. Let me tell you, I have nerve damage in my lower back, ruptured discs, rheumatoid arthritis, and a pelvis fracture that healed back crooked. There are days that I can't walk from the bed to the bathroom without crying. Do you think I can get pain medication strong enough to help me? NO Am I being punished because some people obtain these medications with the intent to sell them? YES Even though I am in constant pain I don't sit on my ass. I am a full time student and I am a mother raising two children. I cook, clean,do yard work, and every night when I go to bed I cry myself to sleep because I am in so much pain. Would I go to Florida to get pain medication? YES I would if I knew they could help me relieve some of my pain. I don't think it's wrong. If I obtain pain medication, for my own personal use without the intent to sell it how is that wrong. If I go to the Mayo Clinic for medical treatment and they give me pain medication, should I be arrested? I think if some of you who want to condemn those of us who use pain medication had to walk a day in our shoes then maybe you would have some sympathy for us and stop saying that we all need to be locked up.

If you are in that bad shape, why does the Drs. in madison co help you? More to it than what you are saying.

I have MRI scans and x-rays from both the Cleveland Clinic and the Mayo Clinic showing the damage I have. In the past I went to those clinics for treatment. I recently lost my health insurance and I have not been able to afford to go back. When I go to local doctors they look at the evidence and each agrees that I have serious damage. Then when they write prescriptions it is for medication that isn't much stronger than extra strength Tylenol. Their reasoning is that they must give me the lowest dose of pain medication that will control my pain level. I have taken medical records showing the medicines that I was prescribed by the other clinics and they refuse to give it to me. I believe it is because there are so many people who obtain pain medicine with the intent to sell it. I have never failed a drug test whether it be a planned test or surprise. I'm not a dealer and I don't agree with people selling pain medication or any other type of drug. But when you have a legitimate medical condition doctors should be more willing to help you.

i can see that both sides of this issue have a point. on the one hand, doctors in KY know that the prescription drug problem is at an epidemic level. quite frankly, i don't think i have ever met someone with a prescription drug problem that didn't say they had legitimate pain. often this is the result of the drug abuse itself. on the other hand, people who truly are injured can't get the medicine that they need. doctors are so scared that everyone and there uncle is abusing the drugs they prescribe them that they are overly cautious. legitimate patients are being forced into resorting to some less than reputably channels to get treatment.

as for you lady, here is what i would suggest. fist, NEVER EVER go through any illegal means to get your drugs. if you get caught you will probably go to jail and lose your kids so its not worth it. i would start by going to a pain clinic that is in Kentucky. have all your documents in order and have a written copy of all of the medication you have been prescribed in the past (my guess is that your pharmacy will have this information if you don't). make it clear that you have no intention of abusing any medication and that you would be willing to submit to random drug test to insure this. if that doesn't work, than you might want to consider going out of state for your medical services. just be sure that the place you go to is interested in treating you pain in a safe and responsible way and not doping you up on painkillers.

4 threads on topix about this. All the comments are about politics... WHO did they bust? We as a community have the right to know. The news media and newspapers haven't mentioned one name either.

I am in the same vote as "its not wrong" and I have been this way for 12 years now! I have tried telling and showing these doctors and I to have not been able to control my pain. I have nerve damage in my legs from neuroapathy, fybromaligia, detearating disc in my back, with high blood pressure and dibetic. Which when I had surgery a couple of months ago for female cancer, the pain meds that I was on for 3 days, helped not only my pain but my suger and blood pressure was NORMAL. I have told the docotrs for years what is cozing both of those to be so high. I have been on so many differant meds that I have lost tract of some and have learned which ones work and don't. I am so tired of living in pain, not being able to get out of bed to get myself to the bathroom. I had times when the pain is so bad that I cry to die. I keep journels of everyday so that I can have proof or look back on them. SO WHAT OR HOW AM I TO TRUST A DOCTOR THAT ACTS LIKE HE OR SHE DON'T CARE ABOUT ME AS A PATIENT. Don't each one of them take an oath to help heal another human life???
