Iheard the owner really wanted a strip club, but the permit doesn't allow it. So he makes the bartenders get up and dance. how trashy.

I have been there a few times. The music is horrendous, awful, the "dj" has no idea what he is doing and the songs go from stereotypical 90s - early 00 " hiphop" to country to bad eightys music. They need to find their identity.
The dancing girls are a bit trashy, the girls can dance but when I am casually drinking I do not want to see up girls mini skirts, there's a place down the street where I can see all the upskirt I want.
As far as a dress code, that's a joke, the place was full of bubbas in baseball hats, probably with a wad of chewing tobacco in their mouth.
It's too bad. I really like dancing...

Why do people on here always try to tear down a business? You idiots don't realize that every business is vital to our economy. How about you support our local businesses? It's good for our city to see a new business open up. You bitch about there's nothing here; but as soon as a new business opens up, the first thing you see is some yahoo with no knowledge on here and trashes it. If you're so smart, then where's your business at?
Stop in this place and see for yourself. I plan on it myself. Topix is not a place to come for info about anything.
Good post.

You do have to question a lot of these new businesses, though. Bars pop up all the time in little ol richmond, and I don't understand why. That market is beyond saturated. Plus, richmond is dead when EKU is out. Same deal with pizza places. I talk to people all the time with "a great idea for a bar! Richmond needs another bar!".

Richmond needs good food. We've made a lot of progress with the spots downtown, but there is still a lot of room for good food in this town. The richmond market is just tough. You have the college crowd and the rest of richmond is set in their ways, so to speak. You really gotta kick ass to make anything work in richmond.

I honestly had no idea Saphires existed. That's how tough it is in Richmond for a bar.

Richmond did not need another bar. Ppl tried to tell him that. Also, decent ppl don't want to see the bar tender dance in her skimpy clothes while they are talking and having a beer. The whole thing was a fantasy for the owner but not a viable business for Richmond. I am sure it will close and if it doesn't it will not make money. The truth is the truth.

Why is the bar thing so trendy? I hear it from many people associated with EKU...."we need a new bar! More bars! Richmond bars suck! I'm gonna make a sweet bar!".Then they're gone for the weekend, and summer...

Well, you see, this is a very small college town, and we already have a handful of established bars. You college kids don't spend enough money and aren't around long enough to support these places.

Richmond had tons of bars in the 70's and 80's and into the 90's. Worley shut down T-Bombs for what? There's nothing there! Police literally stand outside the door just itching to arrest someone. I understand we don't need drunk drivers, but when you're walking and they're harassing you? No wonder businesses are failing in Richmond.

ABC stated that their direction in the 90's and early 2000 was to shut down all the downtown bars due to articles about Richmond ranking as a party town/ school . Seems like they did their job too well
