Where has she went

I would think that the rumor of domestic violence probably got it removed. Laura is crazier than a sh!t house rat.

My guess is the question that was ask for which there is no answer is what got it removed.

The question was why do we have no one interested in the office of mayor that is qualified? Someone responded that Jimmy Barnes is qualified and was then ask what are his qualifications? He does not have an education which would be fine if he had a resume of successful business ventures. I hardly think a clothing store that was not sold but closed when he went to work for Logan's qualifies for that. I readily admit Laura has major issues so why is it nobody else will enter into this. Neither of these could get a job anywhere that I know of based on little education and limited business success. There has to be more to it that a person with one of the above needed items cannot be found in a city this size.

If a suit salesman is qualified to be Mayor then I suppose a bug sprayer is qualified to be commissioner. Embarrassing that we don't elect better people to office. We get what we ask for.

If you are so qualified, then why didn't you run? You apparently have enough free time to get on here and bash our elected officials. I'm proud of our elected officials and they certainly do not get paid enough to deal with the issues they are faced with, especially since their pay has been cut in half.

Whether you are proud or not is once again not the issue. The point is that neither is qualified and where or why is there not one soul that is qualified willing to run.

Asking either to do this is like asking the custodian at the hospital to take out your gallbladder. He may have seen the procedure done but would you want him attempting it?

It goes back to qualifications.

Jimmy Barnes ran a very successful business for many years. He retired so that why the store closed. His working at Logan's was just to slow down. He knew the business inside and out. I'm sure he made quite a contribution to the store with none of the responsibilities that ownership requires.

So let me get this straight. He ran a successful business and made the decision not to sell that business but to simply close the doors. I have never heard of anyone that builds a "successful" business simply walking away. If that is indeed the case that is yet further evidence of a lack of business minded thinking. If you could obtain a buyer why would you not sell it, why would you simply close the doors? I agree with the thought of not wanting responsibilities but to think anyone just closes the doors of a viable business and walks away is so short sighted. Once again, the question is unanswered.

Jimmy has told everyone that he could not afford to keep his doors open, so he sold out. I like Jimmy but the Legendary story of Jimmy Barns is commical to those who know him. No truth.

I assume you know ALL the details?? Maybe he tried to find a buyer. Paul Jett couldn't. Downtown just wasn't the place it is now back then. Who knows but until you know all the details you just look ignorant.

I don't think anyone can compare trying to sell a business now and the time when Jimmy went out of business which was probably 15 years ago when the economy was better.I think the person is trying to point out that he has no experience in anything to run a city. That is plain to see. Why not just admit he is a good guy but we have no one to fix city government.

I for one think Mayor Jim, Commissioners Baird, King, and Newby are under qualified. Recent meetings prove my point. Not only is King under qualified she obviously lacks the character to be a commissioner. With that being said I support them as my city leaders.

Thank you for your non negative comments! Mrs King should keep her temper under control, shes loosing the people of Richmond confidence in her. It will be very hard for her to get the majority vote again.

Two things people claim when they don't have an answer:

1. You are being negative, lets look at the good points
or
2. You are racist

you didn't pick that because you couldn't.
