Went in there today and all of their guns and stuff were really high compared to new ones and other pawn shops. Don't think I'll go back.

you know i hate a sex offender as much as the next person, but they have the right to work. would you rather said sex offender be drawing checks and your tax money paying his way through life? Ever thought the person who hired him may know about his background and decided to give him a chance? and im sure theres just no way in hell this persons stint in jail was enough to make them obey the law when they got out. As a felon myself (not sex related) who has a great employer that looked past my past and gave me a chance it makes me really mad to see people put down businesses for hiring someone with a background. everyone says this and that about how criminals need to get a job and stop doing the things theyre doing and the same people are often the ones who wont hire them or dont want to go somewhere they work and you sure as hell dont want them drawing a check. if it wasnt so difficult for felons to get decent jobs a lot of them wouldnt turn back to a life of crime. But when hustling is all they can do to get by because no one will hire them what do you expect. I consider myself very lucky and blessed to be employed and i work very very hard.

plus its not like he is working at a daycare. its a pawn shop, you hve to be over 18 to pawn something anyway. im sure minors can buy things but id still say its a pretty rare occasion that a minor is even in there unnaccompanied by parents. im sure this man is just trying to pay his bills not prey on anybody up in the pawnshop. i really have trouble understanding your concern

you could be buying stolen property at any pawn shop. no pawn shop can 100% know if something is stolen and trust me none of them want stolen property because then if the rightful owner shows up and claims it the shop is the one who loses money. and its not like theres anyway they could make people prove they own the item before pawning or selling it or they could never be succesful. i know i dont have receipts or anything like that to any of my electronics or tools. especially items that were gifts, or i bought off someone used.

well i like dans they always give me a good deal and if people wasnt lazy they would shop around and find a better price because dans will match it no matter what so dont fuse at them they prolly got guidelines to follow on pawning and selling but if you can get more money or get something cheaper then they will match it but sometimes they cant cause it aint always about the customer its about what pays the bills

There is a guy named Jack @ Dan's in Lexington,on Versailes Rd.He's been great to me.As for them hiring a sex offender,I suggest you check out his offense because having worked with sex offenders some of them have to register for twenty years because a teen girl lied about her age.And it can be proven she lied about her age but due to the laws being changed that cannot be used as a defense any more.I'm all for anyone who is a true sex offender to be prosecuted to the hilt but at the same time I believe in justice.

Again, someone that has no idea of what they are talking about... ALL of Dan's shops hold ALL pawned or sold items for 10 days and it is reported to the police when it's received.

Are you kidding me "buyer of pawns? Do you really think that is the case? Do you think pawn shops don't have stolen property? Give me a break. Pawn shops exist to take advantage of those who need money fast or those who want to get rid of stolen items for fast cash. That's it.

Read his post again, and see if your post made any sense in relation to what he said...

He never said they don't get stolen items. He is stating the reporting system pawn shops use to communicate to police new items they have received. They detail the exchange, and the person who sold/pawned it. Yes, they occasionally get stolen items, but when they do, they lose both the item, and the money they paid for it.
Again, he never said they don't wind up with stolen items.
Thanks

I recently worked at Dans. I was hired less than 2 weeks before christmas. After working hard for five days in training and staying busy with helping all customers, I was asked to go home because of vague reasons. Reasons like you've been sick a lot.(I did have a cold from pawn germs). I was told I would be brought back after the holidays. Now on Jan. 23 noone will answer my call or text. specifically the mgr Jim. This buisness has unfair employment practices. I Loved my job and was dedicated to it. I had only positive feedback about my work performance while there, so what the hell is their problem? Anyway I guess Its a good place to pawn if youre that desperate. I will stay away as well as my friends and family. They are liars as far as I'm concerned.
