Stephanie Powell of Irvine is the employee who stole the meds out of a guest room at Holiday Inn Express. Does anyone know her or if the hotel has had any kind of problems like this before?

In response to the concerns with the medication being stolen from the holiday inn express, the hotel is a safe and secure place to stay and things like this did not happen and have not in the past, there is always the one exception, the hotel cannot help what people do, but they can and did cooperate with the guest and the police, to try to resolve this situation, as with any where, things can happen, everyone wishes they would not, but this is an example that these situations will not be tolerated. Hope this is helpful

I agree. Things will happen. I happen to know that the Holiday Inn Express is the safest hotel to stay at in Richmond. It is actually the number one hotel in this area.
The Guest Services staff are Superb. They go way out to maker your stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast bar is to die for. The Hot food is magnificent.

Also, the two lovely managers there are very nice. I have seen that they take great care of their employees and the hotel guests. They love their jobs and take them seriously, as well as the front desk staff. All of staff at this hotel work hard and do their best to keep it the number one hotel in this area.

One thing happening such as the medications getting stolen doesn't change any of this. I have stayed in this hotel and have gotten the upmost service. It is truly the best Holiday Inn Express out there.

Sounds like the staff are the ones responding to the questions. i am sure that the HIE is a nice place, all i want to know is do these housekeepers have background checks before they are hired? From what i can understand, this girl has several past drug charges and a couple of outstanding warrants. Is this someone who you would want to have access to your room and your personal belongings? Who knows how many other people's stuff she has been into....if there had been a proper background check, she never would have been hired.

The holiday inn express in Richmond is actually a very nice hotel. It'a a great place to stay, clean, welcoming and has a better breakfast than you can find in most restraunts.
As for the sercurity, things happen. Whether this "Stephanie" girl had a background check or not, no one ever knows what another person might do. Sad. But it can happen anywhere you go.
And as for the owner, I know of him and have never heard anything bad ever said of him. He takes care of his employees, at least the honest ones that is.
Ask any long term employee, I'm sure they will tell you the same.
This hotel is #1 in the Richmond area. If the manager did cooperate with the police as well as it has been said then I see no reason not to stay at this awesome HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS

I previously worked for Holiday Inn Express and they were are very hard to work for. They treat you like the dirt you walk on or even less. Every employee works their butt off but you never get a raise. It is a great motel to stay in but not to work for. The boss is Tabor Maggan and he knows nothing about what is really going on in his motel. Which he makes so much money I think he could really care less. To be honest every manager, laundry, and housekeeper is on drugs so bad that is why the pills got stolen from the ladies room. The lady that got robbed has a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and the employee still attempted to go in when the lady left. Believe it or not the employee that stole the meds had a previous background and was currently at the time going to court for stealing out of the register at the Dollar General. So that there tells you they don't care who they hire. And better yet thats the ones that will bust their butt for nothing just to get their fix. They should drug test everyone including the managers and do background checks on them. I know all of this for fact so if you plan on staying in a Richmond motel I advise you to stay somewhere else where you and your belongings are safe. May I add that the head of housekeeping will come knock on your door way before checkout time and wake you up just to see if the room is still occupied or ready to be cleaned. If you are still in the room she will tell you that you should of had you Do Not Disturb sign out, but mind you the lady that got robbed did have that same sign out and it didnt stop them from stealing her belongings. Please take my advise I am a very reliable source.

Thakor Maggan is the owner and he dos treat his employees badly.

He and some business partners he has are involved in 2 different companies (Asha Ventures LLC and Narayan LLC)that were laundering money and hiring and mistreating illegal immigrants in London, KY.

It wouldn't surprise me even if Maggan "went into the rooms" as well.

I'm currently staying in this hotel. I lost my 500$ and no action has been taken yet for last 2 months. Stupid cleaners stole my 500. And i wasn't even told that we can avail lockers on the front desk. When i lost my money and i complained then i was told about lockers. So sad.
I don't know how can't be a hotel responsible for its staff. When you lock your room and have all the keys with you then these cleaners come and stole your things and manager says that they can't do anything except registering with their insurance company. Insurance company said you can't get anything back without any evidences. How sad! I'm very disappointed. Please help me to get my money back if anyone has any suggestions for me.

You can't leave expensive valuables in hotel rooms ANYWHERE. Doesn't matter if it's the Ritz Carlton or what. You take those things with you or check them into the hotel safe which probably has a camera on it.

Im sorry to hear this ladies meds were stolen but the rest of yall need to grow up ive committed a felony when.i was eighteen and have had to.suffer for.it everyday im now 26 and the only people who.ever have given me a chance to.provide fr my daughters ARE these Indian people you talk so badly of . If it wasnt for.them alot of us would be robbing the hell out of some of yall just to.feed our kids . But because.of these.indian.people me and others are able to have a second chance at life , to feel.great about ourselves, and to move on with our life . And half the time people that do.crazy things dont have.backgrounds anyway . The people with felonies like myself are the.ones that work the absolute hardest to keep.our position because if we loose them it could be years before we get anither job. And everyone viewing these post know damn well the.only diffrence between someone convicted of a felony and yourselves is simply that .....you did not get caught and we . Did .so.stopbtalking about trying to.make.people do.background checks what do you expect us to.do.starve to death because we made a mistake when we were eighteen and still have to pay for it take a look at yourselves in the mirror before you.judge us

Thanks for bringing this thread back up. Now I know not to stay at this hotel. Maybe you should have taken your own advice and stopped talking about this two years ago like everyone else did. Try to defend yourself and succeed in more bad publicity for your employer. Kick yourself in the balls when they lose money now and you get laid off.

Tell me when this thread is updated:
