This statement has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. Winchester does not have a school system. Perhaps the writer means Clark County? Fayette County has a much larger central office staff than Madison does and many districts have hte same positions; they just have them on the manning documents of schools rather than the central office. "Double dippers" save the county money as the state picks up the insurance costs and there is no retirement benefits to contribute to. I could go on and on... Please do your research before you post...

In the Winchester School District. Equal in total size to Madison County, they are not only building or building on new schools at every location. Also every teacher in the system got a new laptop. Finally, the remaining yearly funds was divided up between teachers and staff, so everyone got a nice bonus. Averaging $600.00 each.
But we only have one Superintendent and One Assistant. No need to pad the main office with screw ups like they do in Madison County so they have an entire staff double dipping from the system.
I would venture to say a "REAL" Superintendent, would yank that mess out and replace it with proper staffing and do away with the dead weight. You know.. He would do his job.
Heck, Madison has almost twice the people Fayette County does and they are three times the size.
You area parents must be complete fools to allow this.
The school Board works for you. The hired help in the office works for the Board. Can you see a solution to your poorer education issues in your county?

I will have to say that I jumped for joy when I heard that Floyd was leaving the only thing I wish is that he had left along time ago. There is no money left and he decides to leave. WE paid for him to finish hes schooling and padded his pockets now he leaves. The school system is in bad shape I wish the state would step in and take them all down. Our children are the one that have suffered from all of this. There are a lot more that need to go. We have so many dead beats in this system. So good bye Floyd and take all your dead beats with you.
Need info please

I'm tring to get a job through the school district and was wondering if anybody could tell me what are the requirements to get hired. I know you have to have a high school diploma or GED to even apply but if you were consider to be hired what kinda test do you have to take. I heard there's a TB test and physical is that true don't you have to take a drug test as well to be hired. I would think you that would be a requirement but have heard they don't do any of those test. Please help with any info would be greatly appreciate I'm really wanting to work through the school district as a cook or bus moniter or aide. As I not sure what are the requirements are. Thanks for any info I appreciate it a lot.

You will definitely have to get a TB skin test and a physical. The county usually will pay for these if they accept your application for consideration; at least, they used to do so. I don't know about a drug test for a classified position. It's possible, though.
