Lex 18 has his name as andrew morris. Richmond registers site has him as andrew byrd. Wonder which it is? Reguardless it is a very sad day for his family and friends. My prayers are with them. I couldn't imagine losing a child.

His last name is Byrd. I know his family. His grandfather is a independent baptist minister. One of the best I ever heard. I thought a lot of his dad and aunts as we were all raised together here in Wolfe COunty.

I saw the story on the news earlier. I'm sorry for the loss. I will keep you and the young mans family in my prayers. I couldn't imagine the pain that his family is suffering after such a tragic incident. God bless

His parents lost a baby to a tragic accident years ago. THey were young parents and put the baby in bed with them. The baby was around five months old. SOmehow the baby ended up between the bed and the playpen next to the bed. They took that death really hard and now to loose this child. This is a good family that will pull through the tragedy with GOd's help and that of thier friends and family.

I just moved to richmond and heard this on the news i don't know many people here but i can not stop thinking about what i heard. I know he must of been a wonderful person for me to feel such a strong saddens for a loss of whom i never got the chance to met. I keep finding myself praying for the family and will continue to do so.

a lot of you will be upset with this, but this incident only made mankind stronger. this child was not 3... he was old enough to go outside alone. ok, and you cliam he had a hearing problem. this just adds to my point... playing on/near/around train tracks and you cant hear well... hmmm, doesn't sound to be one of the sharper tool in the shed. mankind is now stronger as a whole. Yes, i do feel for the family, and i'm sure it hurts, but nature has it's way of weeding out the weak.

sounds like a suicide to me.....unless he was TOTALLY deaf he would have heard that train plus felt the vibration on the tracks plus, trains are on a daily schedule and if he lived so close to the tracks he would have known that

Rebecca I am so sorry for you loss of your grandson. I live down in red house and have all my life except for 7 yrs then I moved back cause I missed it so much. Yes you are right some people are heartless. My mom and dad always told me if you can't say anything good then say nothing at all. I drove by the day it happened I didn't know what was going on I just felt something in my gut wasn't right then my sister told me cause one of her grandsons was good friends with him. Like I said my thoughts and prayers goes out to you and the rest of his family... John Taulbee

Thank You John people like you sure makes the world a better place. We all are having a hard time dealing with his death any death is hard to deal with but when it happens like this a million questions go through your mind why did he not hear the train his hearing was not bad and i know he did not do it on purpose. The only thing that helps his whole family is to know God takes the BEST and it was Andys time. We all miss him soooo very much his Mom and Brother are so pitiful
