Richmond Police Alleged Sexual Assualt

This is indeed a bizarre case. Theories from a lying victim to police intimidation will obviously follow. The ultimate question is why are three tax-paid officers engaging in gang bangs?

Let's not turn this into a Police-bashing forum. Incidents like these do raise concerns about a larger problem however. Why doesn't Chief Brock suspend these officers pending a full investigation, if for no other reason than to show the public he's in touch with the public's fears?

Well it appears to be a case where there was no victim. She said she was raped then she wasn't. She needs to keep her story straight for one. 2. She refused a rape exam. 3 If it was consensual then its legal. Case closed. But the way she cant keep her facts straight just makes me think she made it all up. About being 3 tax paid officers, Was this conducted on the job? If not its not the concern of the tax payers what they do off the job. Unless its illegal activity.

That's certainly one way to think about the situation, and I don't necessarily disagree.

Another possibility is that she filed the complaint, and then, as the story states, later recanted. In that time between interviews, could it not be possible that the police intimidated her and coerced her to recant?

If the police think they were wrongfully accused of this, why don't they sue? Why doesn't the dept. press charges. It would certainly be a criminal thing to accuse 3 cops of rape. Could it be the dept wants this swept under the rug quickly?

There's no way to know for sure. There are however some really interesting possibilities. It's a bizarre case indeed.

Let me be clear. If she lied, she should be prosecuted if for no other reason than causing public concern.

So many of our officers are suppose to serve and protect but spend their time "serving" if you know what i mean. Many of our officers have this reputation and it would not be a surprise at all if they intimidated her into recanting her story. Noone knows for sure but with the reputation our city and our officers have obtained nothing is surprising. These male officers have done lots of cheating on mates, using their badge to get them out of trouble and much more. Where is the morality and good guys? Certainly needs a thorough investigation and these officers should be monitored on the job at all times, the chief should always know where they are. If this "victim" is reading this, if it was done to you, you get them! Do not let them scare you.

If three officers were banging somebody while on duty, it is news, and they should be suspended or worse. But if it was off duty and consensual, why should it be reported now? The sheriff said the complaint was recanted. So why taint the reputations of three officers and the department by reporting that they were at one time being accused of rape when the paper knows there's nothing to the complaint?

Typical attitude of a cop hater. You all look for any reason to stomp on a cop. If it happened off duty, they cannot be fired for it, and should not. Just because you dislike the behavior, doesn't mean they should be fired for it. Why stop here? Let's say that any homosexual officer should be fired, any bisexual officer, or any other sexual activity you don't like.

This is the problem with the rpd. No morals what so ever. Wouldn't have to bash cops if they gave us no reason. To think these cops patrol our schools too. If nothing was wrong why did a neighbor call the cops. This all started when they made it a Felony to beat there ass now there afraid of nothing. so much for check n balance.
