No one ever wants to admit a suicide has occurred, it's such a bad word in our society. Mental health is misunderstood and largely ignored.

The news said that the train driver saw him sitting on the tracks and the man tried to get up by wasn't able to before the train hit him. They suspect that he was intoxicatedbut it makes it no less sad for him and his family and frends. Pray for them instead of trying to make up rumors to spread around.

Thank you. I saw this on the news, too. It is so sad to know that he realized the train was coming and tried to get up but couldn't. May he rest in peace.

<quoted text>are you retarded or just ate up with a dumb ass, anyone who wasnt on a death wish would move, im sorry i know many people who has conditions like that and they still can move when something like that happens, midnight around that area, he probaly was leaving the blue moon or something, if you dont like what the facts are then close your eyes on my post, face the damn facts or are you to eat up on pills and booze to see the facts, yes he probaly was a father and so on, but so was others who got killed and i bet you was the first to say the person was drunk so he should burn in hell, but at midnight in richmond it does not take a rocket scientist to figure something out, if it was a medical condition im sure he would have had a emt called, so before you type hypocritical statements on me you should look at all the areas, but your always on here i see so that says it all, your a queen bee of richmond who knows noo better than to run your baby trap
Listen buster, I have never done drugs or alchol in my life, but I have seen heart attacks and strokes and you can't move. If you think you can move a car or call someone after something like that happens then you live in a dream world. And no, when something like that happens, my first response is NOT they were wild or drunk. Only people who do that stuff holler that first. By the way you do not see me on here all the time and you are right, I shouldn't be reading or responding to idiotic post. So say what you want but I won't respond to you after this.

person has been killed after an accident involving a train.

It happened in Richmond, where Four Mile Avenue intersects with the train tracks.

The accident happened just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

The Madison County coroner says the victim is 61-year-old Charles Wayne Harris. The coroner believes Harris is from Panama City, Florida.

The coroner says Harris had been staying in Madison County recently, but he did not have a permanent address.

The coroner says the man was sitting on the tracks at the time. A toxicology test will be done on him to see if he had drugs or alcohol in his system.

Investigators are having trouble contacting Harris' next of kin. If you have any information about him, you're asked to call the Madison County coroner's office, or Richmond Police at 859-623-8911.

I also have never done drugs or drank Its very sad that this happened, but I know if I was going to I wouldnt do it on the tracks there is plenty of places to get drunk if u are doing it while sitting on the tracks then u have a death wish..Everyone goes to that railroad crossing when they want to commit suicide because there isnt much traffic there at night..Its very sad that this happened

Hoe oops i mean foe, you really need to remove the bible from your butt, you want to set there and think your all holier than thou your a typical hypocrite you know jack shitt, and you want to claim that you seen people have heart attacks and stuff well its probaly because they was trying to walk around your fat assssss but ran out of wind before the made it, now go to the beach and sell some shade and start saving for a new life, if you read the real news instead of just what you want to see then you would see i was 100% right

Man this does suck but really no one freakin knows except the guy whos dead. He could of decided that life sucks and he wanted to die by a train or he could have been messed up and not been able to get out of the way. There will be a test on him so we will see just what he may or may not have been under the influence of. I will be the first to say at least once in my life I have been so drunk I could barely lift my head and make it to the head, so really...who knows what his deal was. Maybe just fate..Wrong place at the wrong time.

My dear old mother was once a nurse, and whenever I'd approach her with a new childhood cut or scrape, she'd give me the soundest of all medical advice to prevent both minor and serious injury: If it hurts when you do that, don't do that.

If people wish to avoid being run over by trains, they should avoid the tracks. If people wish to avoid being too drunk to vacate a dangerous situation, they shouldn't drink so much.

A tragedy? Perhaps. But also a perfect example of natural selection favoring the wise, and not so much the foolish. At least it can be said that the alleged drinking problem is officially and permanently solved - oft times, stupid is its own cure.
