I nor my friend and family will ever go there again. Service sucks, some wait staff have an attitude from hell. They tried to charge me 18% gratuity while not providing me a itemized receipt. When questioned about it, they brought in security and their lawyer. Then played hard ball. Even with that there was numerous fights in and outside of the bar.

Interesting. I've been there many times and have never had that issue.

The only time I've ever seen them charge an automatic gratuity is when you reserve a room for a large party. That is pretty standard for any business.

Details please? Cause this does NOT sound like the Gillums I know.

Gillum's is a great place to eat, but watch out if you use a credit card. My 2 cards got copied over the NCAA tournaments. I also have found out 4 more friends had the same problem. So credit card users beware of the problem at the moment.

I reported the same thing to a manager at Gillums. I had my credit card stolen. The visa fraud department said it was a person who physically had possession of my card and the Gillums staff member was the only person who did. I had hundreds of dollars stolen out of my account. Luckily visa is great and they caught the fraud and are putting the money back in my account.

I am pretty irritated that the manager did not seemed concerned at all that a member of the staff was stealing from customers. I won't be returning and I will be notifying the police!

I just reported it to the police. I waited to do so because I thought it was an issue for the credit card company but the police really need to know.

Has anyone else paid with a credit card at Gillums recently and had their credit card info stolen? Mine was sold to someone and used in Florida. Anyone else?

1. Where did this Gillum's Lawyer come from? That's disturbing.
2. Stealing credit cards is disturbing.
3. I like Gillums. That's disturbing, now.
4. Their service is questionable.

Maybe the purchased the new downtown location with your credit cards?

I hope your credit card company has worked with you to get the fraudulent charges taken off your account. I would encourage you to complain to Gillums and to report the theft to the police. Good luck!

The bit about gratuity should be upfront and known in advance of a party. However, the Gillum's problems with credit/customer service is something I have been hearing about and now reading about for awhile.

Gave them a chance - it was just fine - not going to spend another dime in there unless they get their act together.

The attorney was drinking? Or who was drinking?

This all happened at the restaurant?

I have a hard time understanding what you are trying to say in either of your posts.

I got a call today from the fraud department of my credit card company. Someone tried to make purchases in Florida with my credit card number. I visited Gillum's during March Madness.

I find it strange that your card was used in Georgia and Fla. Maybe it's not to strange since last week was the high school spring break. Most of them go to Fla. I'm TOTALLY speculating BUT if your card really was sold. I would be willing to bet to a high school student heading on spring break made the Purchase. I'm so glad to know about this. We go there but not like we use to. We stopped due to poor service last March madness. The service was terrible. We had a large table everyone ordering lots of food and beer and no service. I felt bad for the waitress and I pulled her aside. I said I know we are a needy bunch but I promise we will take very care of u, if u will take care of us. She laughed got even slower than before. Was worried more about how she looked and prancing around. I stayed for the game paid my 15 percent and left. This year cost a fraction of that. Went to friends took food and spent a lot less. Thing is I would have doubled her tip to just have tried to stay on top of a empty beer bottle that set for 20 minutes. Scary thing I used my debit card. Due to this thread I will not do that again. Good luck on catching who stole your card. Make sure the owner knows. I feel like he would check into it... Good luck!!

I will say that after seeing this post, it may be a reason, MINE and MY FRIENDS debit cards had fraudulent charges on them last month. we did meet and have lunch at the new location down town. My & Her cards were reported to have had charges from South Carolina. Has anyone reported this to Gillums ?!

I reported it to the manager, Brad. He did not seem to care. Didn't get my name or contact info. Didn't offer an apology or any reassurance that it would be taken care of. Basically listened to my explanation that one of his staff members was a thief and he said nothing.

The thing I find curious is that mine was stolen from the mall location and another of my friends was also stolen from there. Others were stolen from downtown? Do the same employees work in both locations? Or are there multiple employees stealing from multiple locations. This is shady. I hate this for the owner. I'm sure he has no idea what is going on.

the bank told me that it actually had nothing to so with the employees but that it was probably due to INSECURE credit card processing and that the employees nor the owners were even aware ...
