well your first mistake is thinking I am unimportant and your second mistake is thinking I have to go to wal-Mart to talk to a manager. I don't deal with cashiers, I deal with those who get rid of cashiers who piss me off.
If you are making the mistake of thinking Wal Mart is different from a factory job, you are sorely mistaken. It is hot, it is loud, you are on your feet, constantly moving, lifting, talking, watching, explaining. My nails are clipped short, my hair is up, and I sweat through my shirts.

Remember that when you're "getting rid"of cashiers that "piss you off", you're perpetuating the economic cycle that causes layoffs at your job. Or ruining someone's life over your petty sense of self-importance.

Also, karma is a mother. You cost someone their job, and you could be next. So quit being so hateful.

I use to be in management for retail. If you don't like your job and where your at then quit. It's friggon simple you whiner and complainer. How about just be happy that you have a job. There are tons of unfortunate people right now that would love to have your job. And with a smile on there face. Everyone has choices in life. You choose to stay at a job you hate. Only person to blame is your damn self. Take action and responsibilities for your own life and happiness. Quit blaming other people for your misery. If it wasn't for the customer coming in and buying crap from your store. You would not have a paycheck. Keep that in mind FYI. So fix yourself and shut up and do something about how miserable you are. Only you choose your happiness idiot. Not everyone else that comes into a store to buy things. There not there to make you happy in life. There at the store to purchase things in life for thereself, family. Get a life

Joey,
I can tell you are from here! Back in my grand daddy's day, he walked 10 miles in his barefeet to the coal mind. Be greatful that you even have a job, blah blah blah! With that attitude, is why Kentucky is consistently ranked in bottom part of the country in every category. You people just settle. And for those who think this is a good job, it just shows you where your mentality is. I guess, compared to a car wash or working in a coal mind it is! This job is a high school job in California. And to answer your comment about my education. I have my undergraduate degree and I'm working on my MBA.
Coal "mind"? LOL Be "greatful"? Obviously somewhere in between grade school and college you took spelling twice and failed both times. No wonder you're at Wal-Mart.

Mad Mom aren't you powerful and above it. Glad to see that you are part of the upper echelon, and that you are able to assist in getting rid of cashiers.

This past evening, I brought my groceries to the cash register, and I dropped a glass jar of Spaghetti Sauce all over the floor. I felt so bad because the senior-citizen employee had to clean it up.

Dear Cashiers & Service Industry People:

I am sorry the world is filled with self-entitled people. I know sometimes people can have a bad day but that is no excuse to be an arse.

If everyone was required to work for a year as a cashier at Walmart, cooking at McDonalds or waitress tables anywhere... The world would be a better place.

Until then I will keep my heavy items in my cart & ask you to scan with the handheld. I will stay off my phone so I don't hold a line up. I won't ask gas station attendants to complete 30 separate lottery ticket transactions and hold up the 10 people in line behind me for a ridiculous amount of time.

Just going to add..
All of you customers that completely ignored what the original poster has said are a bunch of mouthbreathing rednecks.
Everyone hates their jobs. Don't you wish someone would help make your job easier? I'm not saying that every time you eat, you have to think of starving children or that when you get in a car crush you should give your insurance money to an orphanage. I'm saying to at least have some common sense. A lot of cashiers are young people straight from high school, why are you treating these people like dirt?

And I can never imagine being mean to a complete stranger that is bagging my groceries or serving me food. Many times I was yelled at, it wasn't for anything that the store or I actually did. I've seen cashiers get yelled at for computer malfunctions and etc but I've been spared. Something rang up wrong a few cents.. I almost always change the price and never do a price check. Why? So you can shut the hell up. But once in a while I get that one person that yells at me instead of politely saying, "Oh, I thought this was $1.49 not $1.59".

What happened to the days where everyone was friendly? Fast paced stores has changed everyone's attitudes, and no one wants to change it.

If you inconsiderate unsympathetic rednecks lack the ability to feel for the people helping you, at least do this.. Do not ever tell a cashier to hurry up. Ever.
Quit crying you

All the more reason why I choose to shop else where! To the original poster, you are so right! Some people don't deserve to get the dollar amount they are getting paid. If not for the labor department's labor law, you would be getting less. Sorry, but cashiers aren't that important in life! All of your whining is one of the main reasons why I choose to take advantage of the self-checkout! There is one way you can solve your problems! Don't let the door hit you!

Go to the store I've posted here if you want to see the height of self-entitled stupidity. I perform the following on any given night with little to no appreciation from anyone except the overnight cashiers and CSMs: people greeter, stocker (mainly in frozen), maintenance, cashier, CSM-in-training...I also help bakery and produce, break up and zone the ice as well as putting ice bags in the second case that can't make any, Sales associate, I zone and wipe down lanes 1 through 10...and I began originally as an IMS Associate. There's two things total that truly piss me off...self-entitled asshole customers who can't seem to understand "Customer Service closes after 10pm" and people who make the smartass remark, "don't work too hard now"...so yeah, OP does have their right to bitch! Oh, by the way, all the work I do, I get paid 8.45 and hour and don't get paid a single dime of overtime work that I have ever done...
