Have you seen thier choice for day-shift bar-tender, that's why no one comes in. Just what we want to look at and spend money....not a over-healthy thick man....

There are several possible explanations for your displeasure:

Firstly, college has let out, meaning that there are far fewer younger people of drinking age than there may have been prior to your departure. Many return home for the summer.

Secondly, we are still in the first of the three prime vacation/road-trip periods of any typical summer. The fairly recent, long-awaited advent of warmer temperatures, combined with the cessation of classes for both kids at the primary level and young adults at the college level, make for a many a family trip to amusement parks, campgrounds, local lake marinas, beaches and resorts. Many such outings include the potential patrons now absent from the bars here, either on vacation with friends or with family, enjoying these first few weekends of closer-to-ideal weather. Richmond has little to offer in the way of amusement and/or tourism by comparison.

Thirdly, your perception many be impacted by external factors: If the nightlife in the area where you have returned from was of a better sort, with more people or perhaps better venues, it may be that the local scene has lost some of the charm it had before your exposure to superior options elsewhere. It may also be that in the four years you've been away, you have changed, grown, making that which you left behind seem smaller or more trivial. It could be that you romanticized your prior experiences here, as many tend to do with places they've been and enjoyed themselves in the past, so much that the reality cannot equate to the fantasy of how awesome you wanted it to be in your memory.

Listen jar head, it's like this. The owner opened a real nice business, but he must have not understood that drunks, winos, dopers and dealers all hang out at places like this. So first thing you know, they find themselves with drunks all over the place. And you know what that did to the family atmosphere for the bowling alley.

So that's the story.

I have not been there since I heard is is now a gay bar.

Not me cup o tea Eh???

It is cheesy. Like mst of the other bars in Richmond all of their customers tend to be at Riptides. In the summer it is the best bar in Kentucky.

It's a bar attached to a bowling alley that caters to families. It's also tiny. You have to leave the bar to use the bowling alley rest room. Never did feel all that good about getting my drink on in the midst of teens and little kids and crusty old people. Rather go to a place that focuses and caters entirely to the bar patrons than some make-shift hole-in-the-wall anyway.

For someone who types like they're talking with a mouthful of their Bad Uncle, you are probably an expert on the subject noodle nursing. In fact, I suspect the balls with holes in em aren't the balls you're there for.

Enjoy, Champ. The rest of us will be at a REAL bar, probably banging your sister and/or your mom in the parking lot for the price of a draft beer. No creamy surprise for them, though... Condom with those skanks, for sure.

There are two main reasons it went down hill..#1 they lost the best two bartenders in the world, and #2 they also lost the best security in Richmond. No one is ever in there anymore because those three people are the ones who brought in the business. Since my princess and pork chop are no longer there, my family and friends have absolutely no reason what so ever to set foot back in that place. I would rather spend my money in a place with great employees!

This bar is owned by a bunch of gay dudes. I thought everyone knew it was a gay bar, that's why I don't go there.

Yeah they screwed up big time when the bartender and Porkchop were let go. Two of the nicest people ever. Never been rude to any of us.

There are a couple gay people (or as we call them, "people") who go there, because the regulars.are.actual people, who don't care if you're gay or straight. If you're concerned about drinking in the same room as a gay man, I suggest you evaluate your own sexuality and issues thereof. What are you, going to make a move on some guy you don't know or something?

Neither of the two lovely lady bartenders were fired; one moved back to her home state and the one who recently had a beautiful daughter is more busy with that.

Do you think that a person is a poor bartender because he's overweight? Do you dislike non-flaming gays because you're afraid of accidentally talking to one about basketball? Do you talk bad about people you don't know over the internet? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the chances are, you're a turd nugget.

You're talking about my friends. I suggest you go die in a fire.

I don't care if y'all want to rub wieners together, none of my business! I just choose to drink with my own kind, u dumbass! I could care less about anyones sexual orientation, religion, race, or anything else. I do, however, have a right to hang out with straight, white, bikers like myself!

That's kind of exactly my point; it's none of your business. And it's not a gay bar, or did you not read what I typed?

It's also very obviously not a biker bar so I don't know why you're concerned about whether anyone there is gay. That's awfully juvenile.

For the record, I'm straight, but thanks for the offer to rub weiners. I think I'll pass.
