Hands down the worst utility service I have ever had. I strongly recommend taking your business any where else. I would rather sign up a pay a company that directly funds terrorism. If you do decide to sign up for Time Warner expect to wait a long time for installation, expect the worst customer service imaginable, expect to randomly have your bill doubled, and expect them to be as rude as humanly possible when confronted with their mistakes. The BBB should take action against this sorry excuse for a business.

I have their lite (slowest) internet. It was a bitch to get it installed. but it's only 20 bucks a month, works like 99% of the time, and it's fast enough for what i need.
Their CS does suck. But att said i couldn't get their service unless some one else on my street cancels

Ive had nothing but problems from TWC. The net went out and they blamed it on our modem. Sent a tech out three days later. Turns out, there was a work order to shut off the internet in my apt building but they got the wrong apt.
Installation is always a nightmare. One time, the tech drilled the cable hole in the middle of the wall and the wall cracked. He just said "oops " so now I had to deal with a huge black cable down my wall and a six inch crack.

I guess it depends on location or something. I have had tw internet for three years and had service interruption about 4 times. Once was only for about 30 minutes. The longest was 4-6 hours. On dsl from att I could plan on Sunday after noon being so spotty it was useless to try and not reliable the rest of the time.

I just moved to Richmond from Prestonsburg and I'm trying to decided where to buy my Internet from but frankly, I'm not seeing too many positive reviews for ANY company. Whether it's on here or other websites, customers are seriously pissed off.

My roommate and I both will be constantly streaming (even simultaneously) from two different devices (PS3 and Roku), and have other products connected throughout the day. 50 Mbps would likely be sufficient... for the time being - but I have no quarrel with paying a few dollars extra to obtain even higher speeds.

In case anyone is interested in in depth reviews for Internet Service Providers.

Windstream Internet
Frankly, I've never seen such a poor reviewed service. All 35 reviews result in 1 star ratings.

Time Warner has nearly equally negative reviews. Also Com Cast is in the process of buying Time Warner so that'll likely result in significant or non-substantial changes. Wait and see how things pan out.

My parents have had FastAccess DSL for years so I can speak from experience, it's garbage.

I am also from Prestonsburg and live in Richmond. My parents still live in Prestonsburg and the internet is so slow. It really sucks to have crappy service in Eastern KY, but you don't expect to have such crappy service here as well! I've had TW, Comcast and Direct TV and I would say that Comcast may be the best. I do think it costs more to have better service so I'm hoping that Comcast will help in this area.
Thanks

I've been doing some homework also on where to get my internet. I'm on Windstream right now and I'm not very happy with it at all. They say they need to update and refuse to give a date. When I read on the BBB, I realized that it's an excuse. If they have any intentions on updating their service, then they aren't in any hurry to start. My internet is so slow, I would almost believe that I'm back on dial up. Forget trying to watch any videos. I use wi-fi for my phone and it's so slow that I have to turn off the wi-fi in order to get any speed.

So, if you decide on Windstream, my advice is don't. I've had TW before and dropped it because of the price. I can't remember too many problems with the service. It was just the price but I'm ready to forgo that issue and give them another shot.

I was on Suddenlink when living in Prestonsburg and I was paying $50 (Modem rent included) month! I can't say I had any real major problems with the company itself but my modem had to be replaced... 3!! times.

I'll look more into Comcast though. That's actually who I was thinking about going with but like all the other ISP's I listed, it seems they are is abundance of unsatisfied customers.

TWC hung a promotional flyer on my doorknob that had a hand written note stating "Free installation" so that's a plus because when I looked online, the installation fee is $20.

Bad as the cable companies are, Windstream is far worse. Frequent outages, dial-up speeds, and outrageous rates.
