I have been to Pattie A Clay numorous times in the past years and both the attitude and patient care sucked. I was there in the ER recently and was treated great. The nurses were kind and the doctors actually seemed to care for once. You must be a family member of one that got the axe.

The new administration and board are finally ridding the place of the people that have helped give them a bad reputation for years.

All of the hospitals in this area have their problems. I will have to agree that Pattie A Clay fired some of the their better nurses that have worked there for awhile, but they also got rid of a bunch of nurses that were also a problem. The hospital will never get better if they do not clean house once in a while. I may not agree with the way the went about it, but hopefully in the long run it will be better.

I worked at PAC several years ago and I will tell you there were some very good nurses there. Many of them did 3 shifts a week there and 3 in a Lexington hospital, one is now house supervisor at St. Joe's, one managed a Lexington hospital ER for years. The nursing staff were dedicated caring individuals. The issues that earned PAC's reputation was the poor physician care, the lack of equipment and the filthy environment.
They have cleaned up and worked to solve the environmental problem, they still have very weak physicians and therefore the reputation will not change.

I am an Paramedic, and Saint Joseph East is not the best. Personally if I have something happen to me I want to be taken to Central Baptist or UK depending on the problem.

My dad was recently in pattie a clay for 5 days back in dec. He was in the er for about 4 hours and then moved to the third floor. The nurses and doctors in the er were wonderful. I mean we couldnt have asked for anyone better. They were nice and attentive. On the third floor his nurses were nice but very slow at getting to him if he needed anything. It was quiet frustrating at times but you hated to be mean bc they were nice.

I won't step foot back in that PAC, even if it means dying from making a longer trips to Berea or Lexington. Wouldn't bother me if they closed it down and built a Popeye's Chicken in it's place.

You have no idea what you have said here. Ask a community like Lancaster what it has done to them to be without a hospital. You speak this way because you are up and going. If you had a massive heart attack or where in horrible pain you would take the local Vet if you had to. I am not saying they would be my first choice but if I were dying it would be nice to have at least a stopping point for help.

You morons have NOT a clue about what happens at Pattie A. Clay. But, I'll be the first to tell you that they are going no where and no where fast. Getting rid of some of the administration that they did has done nothing but hurt them.
I hate Pattie A Clay

I had my son at Pattie A. Clay, and I will never go back. They didn't even take anything I wanted into account, and they were extremely rude to me. The nurses were amazing for the most part, but the rest sucked. Especially Dr. Smith. He's a horrible doctor and should be investigated for forcing so many of his patients into having cesareans that are unnecessary. :// I'm actually going to Central Baptist or a birthing center next time. Hell, I'd rather have a baby at home before going there.
To be honest

The worst thing that happened was when UK was blocked from buying it. The plan was to turn it into a trauma center. Would have employed a lot more people and would have been a very much needed asset to this area of the state. Oh well...
