We got our bill in yesterday. Just last month, it was 32.61. Now, we're being charged 67.42 for the same number of units used, it's more than doubled in one month's time!
What is going on here? You bet I'll be complaining! That's ridiculous - they get state and federal funding for updating/expanding sewer and water treatment facilities...why do they have to raise our rates so high?

Now they're providing envelopes. I'm sure that is why the rates doubled.....

Yeah, we noticed that, too. I don't know about y'all, but I was perfectly happy with the little cards they used to print out.
Moral of the story is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it - it costs too much. ;)

When I called to ask about the water bill. The lady was rude, crude and obnoxious. Then she hung up the phone.

That's the typical service offered by Richmond Utilities. It's much like the county clerk office, full of rude women who have nothing to do but sit around and get paid.

I'd like to see how our commissioner and mayoral candidates respond to that very question.

I've called this morning and asked about the steep increase in our bill this month, and the lady who answered was just as rude as she could be with me, too. I did, however, have a moment to remind her that my tax dollars pay her paycheck and that she might want to lose her attitude with her "employers." I don't think she liked it that much, because she quickly hung up the phone.

Same here.
I called on Tuesday, as I had not gotten that little card, and know that the due date is soon..
The lady told me bills were sent out late, so on and so on.
I asked her for the balance, which, btw is about 10 dollars more than last month.
My customer number has changed, and when she gave it to me, and I repeated it back to her, when I said, dash, between the series of numbers, she said, no,that is a dot, if you want to pay on line.

The mail that day did bring me the new bill.
LOL'ed, no where on the bill is an addy to pay it on line.

VOTERS remember to take ypur water bills with you to the polls as a reminder of what this MAYOR and Commissioners have done to US, enough is enough time to put the trash out for GOOD. NO more Lawson, Strong, Brewer, Blythe, or Jones, a bunch of monkeys have been running Richmond for way too long.

I don't think the Grants have to much pull with the city now days. That was a dumb comment. The Grants outsmarted the feeble minded city folk. Our bills are up because the dun=mb ass city has spent everything we taxpayers have paid. Wish AD would run for city commishioner, he would know how to bring the city out of debt.

Maybe if you saw the Grant's water truck filling up daily from the fire hydrant without a meter on it you wouldn't think it was such a dumb comment. Somebody has to pay for it! AD for commissioner (that's how it's spelled, BTW)-now that's a dumb comment!!!

We received our bill two days ago and I was in shock over the increased amount. My husband and I talked about it and I was going to call today. We thought maybe it was meter reading mistake, now I know that is not the case, I am still going to call. I am like everyone else, bring back the postcard and forget the envelope and printed out bill, that does not justify a $30+ increase on a bill, I am quite content with sticking my bill in my cheap envelope that I buy at the dollar store. I do remember seeing a sign with Connie Lawsons number on it, stating a Mayor you can talk to, I know I will be giving her a call today. I would also like to know who is on the "water board" I do believe they need to be let go, quickly!
