Why isn't anyone questioning the builder of this home, or the codes inspector? By code the deck should be built to hold as many people can possibly fit. For example a code passing 10x12ft deck should be held with 8 6x6 posts using 2x10 joists and lag bolted together.

As long as the deck was built to code by the builder they are not responsible. It would be the homeowner.

Laughing my ass off at your stupidity. Hell you gotta be the building inspector to be so fucking confused. A deck as you describe is attached to the house on one end, and has 2, get 2, post on the exterior corners. It if framed many times on 24 centers instead of the superior 16, but 24 is legal so many cheap sub standard builders in this area use that.

Here is the problem, the 10 x12 deck has 120 square feet of floor. Not counting any furniture or crap taking up that space, hell lets sat it is empty. The average person is 20 inches wide. Google it stupid.

Now 40 20 inch circles located on that deck are touching. So how drunk do you need to be to walk into a space where you are rubbing against other people all drunk and slobbering all over each other.

Pretty damn drunk if you ask me. So if there had been less alcohol, and more common sense, this would not have happened.

As I see it, this may have been a good thing since no one was killed. Maybe all the people standing on the deck now understand about being stupid, and not thinking.

But more importantly, people such as yourself, can appear less ignorant as you have now been educated on the topic.

6, 6x6 posts..... You dumb ass...... Is the deck free standing out in the yard!!!!!

Quick, call you momma and tell her she weas wrong to allow you to be on dope as a child.

I do understand it is fun to bend young college girls over a deck railing and pour the cock to them. Listening to them beg for more while waving their arms in the open air. But guys, the damn line needs to stay off the deck. No deck can handle as many men as any college girl.

I said 8 6x6 posts. I just looked at the 10x12 deck on the back of my house. It is not freestanding. It is connected to the house, has 3 posts on each side and 2 under the stairs. It was built by a reputable builder and passes code. I would not have any fear of standing 40 people on my deck. I would welcome them to come stand on it and jump up and down if they want. Instead of bashing me, why don't you realize the point I was trying to make.

2 posts is not enough to hold up a deck that could possibly hold a large amount of people, drunk or not. What if this was a kids birthday party and there were a lot of people on the deck? The codes inspector and builder should know this.

I realize you are most likely a Topix troll, or one of Richmond's closed minded who thinks the college and alcohol sales are bad for the city. You most likely also still think the Richmond Centre is bad for our city and it should be turned back into a farm. I'm not too worried though as I know you are old and bitter, and once you have reached the end of your life, you'll disappear without a second thought, just like a smelly fart in a strong wind.

Without knowing who you are, but realizing that I frequently have sex with many many women married to fools like yourself unable to satisfy them, I just hope when my time comes and some jealous husband shoots me in the back, the bullet does not pass through me and into your woman. Cause if she is indeed one of the fine ladies I am having a great time helping out in their time of need, I would never want them to be hurt because their husband is a chump.

You are bitter, with low self esteem, and low intelligence. I am glad to know people like yourself only raise their opinions on this anonymous internet forum which has no connection to the real world, and those of us that contribute to the world can continue to try to improve things for the better. Your last reply proves what a sad person you really are. Good luck.

I'm with Voter. Nobody with an IQ over room temperature takes Topix serious. Read some of the other posts.

But I would expect the investigation into which fools overloading the deck was at fault and who pay for the repairs as well as who sits in jail for damaging the property.
Drunk college students need to be outlawed. The only way seems to be prohibition.
So expel the looser's from school and start the prosecution.
I also think the liquor store where they purchased the booze is mainly at fault. Close it down first thing.
Yeah outlaw them because our community does not need the money that the college brings in. They can just raise our taxes.
