Ive heard rumors that after april childcare assistance will only be provided for people on ktap. Is that true? If so, do they know how many women will lose theyre jobs?!?! They say i make too much money for ktap. I cannot afford child care on my salary and im a single mother with no friends or family who are able to keep my child. I will be forced to quit my job. Can we do something about this?

I don't know but I am with you on the matter. I will be another single mother losing her job, I too have no one to help and don't get k tap, or child support and cant afford the expensive childcare. I guess we will have to sit on our asses and collect more benefits so they can see how much that is really going to cost them for screwing us over.

It is not the states responsibility to pay to raise YOUR child. If you don't make enough to support YOUR child, perhaps school would be a better choice than sitting on your behind!!!

That's the problem you stupid skank. I have a college degree and work, but they are going to cut out the help I get for child care so now I will lose my job because no one can watch them. So if you work after I lose my job, I am so happy to know you will be providing my foodstamps, medical care, etc.

What kind of college degree did you get that you can't even afford a babysitter?

This is just crazy while other states increase the poverty level ky reduces there's. It doesn't matter if you have a degree or no degree at all the cost of child care is outrageous its as much as tuition at a damn college its just not possible. I'm in the same boat no family to watch my children. I still pay for part of my daycare but no way I can afford to pay full price. I'm with the girl who said she gona sit at home on her ass while those working folks pay for my food medical coverage and whatever else I can get cuz I'll be screwed literally

In April they are not taking any new applications for Kinship care assistance, not childcare. They are talking about decreasing the income as in July. But if you have your re-certification before Jul then you will be under the old income levels. So make sure if you have to recertificated do it before July.

You have NO idea what kind of situation these families are in that receive child care assistance. To even qualify you have to work more than 20 hours and go to school or work full-time. So before you sit behind your computer screen judging us we are taking care of our children, but you need to know what you are talking about first.

Quit JUDGING because you have no idea what you are talking about because I am for one not sitting on my behind all day. I work full-time and have since I was a teenager. I also go to college part-time. So I'm far from not doing what I should to raise MY children. I do pay for part of my daycare, but I can not pay over $880 a month for child care. Now you tell me since you are so much better than me, how do I do that? What get a second job? The question will still be, who will watch my kids? I guess you would suggest them staying at home by themselves. Well let me tell u what is going to happen. Parents will not be able to pay for child care and will have to have their older (9-12) children stay home by them selves. If that happens lets see how many children will be hurt or something horrible happen to them because they are unsupervised due to their parents not able to pay for child care. I just hope it doesn't come to that for any of these families.

dayum...you guys have this public assistance crap down pat, don't you?

Make sure your re-cert'd to keep getting the free stuff!

How about actually choosing fathers who will be responsible, wage-earning MEN who take care of their children OR stop having kids you can't eff'n afford!

Have you priced child care before? For one child all day the cheapest is $110 a week and $55 for after school. Now that is for one. Now I have a degree and still going for another, plus I work and I still cant afford to pay it. It will cost $880 just for my children. The cost is more than I pay in rent and utilities a month.

really... you have no idea what a persons story is. See child care assistance is the ONLY assistance I get. And see this assistance gave me the opportunity to get out of an abusive marriage. So you can sit and judge me all you want, I know what I do for my children and I'm raising them in a better environment without their father. Not all of us are deadbeat non working sorry ass people.

This freeloading off the government needs to stop. Put the kids up for adoption and get a job.

These dips-shits on here trying to talk shit about you for being a hard working mother, whom by chance live in the worst paying state in the nation, are pathetic sheep! They are most likely homely slobs who cannot find a mate and can't even get laid in order to have children of their own to reference the hardships. I can put money on the fact that most likely they make less money than you do and if they were to be blessed with a child would probably just leave them home all day to fend for themselves. They don't care about the kind of assistance that leads to self sufficiency yet they bitch about the people who don't try to help themselves. You see, you can't talk sense into these types of scum simply because their statements lack substance. They have no backing to their claims because they are either lies or hypocritical. They really have no lives and get on Topix to trash everyone for everything they think is cool to trash. They're slaves to sensationalism and not products of real life because real life won't have them. Here's the thing assholes, these ladies work hard and pay taxes! How about we just stop taking that extra $100 from them every week and that way they can pay the portion that the govt is subsidizing? Either way its about the same. Point being, they aren't taking food out of your mouth because they are paying in. We all pay in and benefit from doing so at different degrees and points in our lives. So to the low-life's bashing for entertainment get a fucking hobby! And to the ladies who are out here doing the right thing and are getting screwed out of the only help you receive, stand up for this cause! This child care is the type of assistance we need to be investing in! Don't pay these morons any mind. They are not worth the real estate in your mind. If the people with common sense on this forum just ignored the nitwits on here acting out for attention eventually they would go play in traffic and we could have a productive place to discuss things.

Lol i have a job thank you. I pay my full rent which is 550$ a month, electric, water. I also do not receive foodstamps. The only assistance i receive is childcare assistance which i still have to pay 50$ a week for. The point.... Dumbass is if i loose my childcare i will then have to quit my job bc there is no one to keep my child, even if i cud afford it, there is no one. Therefor, i will have to get on foodstamps, section 8, and wutever other assistance is available to me. Obviously since ur so well off that u can sit back and judge others im sure u wont mind the extra tax dollars coming out of ur paycheck

You know it doesn't suprise me at all that people are acting the way they are. You can sit and judge people behind a computer all day everyday but until you walk a day in thier shoes you are
Not the one to be judging. I agree that there are a lot of people that take advantage of the system. Childcare assistance helps a lot of people make a living the best way they can. Everyone makes mistakes. Just because I ended up with a POS baby daddy that doesn't mean I don't love my children. I shouldn't have to give them up for adoption. I work 40hrs a week at job where our raises have been frozen for 3 yrs. I am in school part time and still pay my rent and feed my children. I don't receive any other assistance but Childcare and everyone has a co-pay. My tax dollars are paying my way. Not everyone has parents that have retired and can keep their children.
Like I said I agree that people take advantage and some just expect the help. But they could start making more requirements like drug testing. Home inspections. I think that if your receiving help then your children should be in a preschool setting with curriculum they should be learning something. Grandparents and aunts should not be getting paid to watch them.
Everyone has their opinions just like they do on everything. But I just think that they are gonna end up realizing its not gonna help. It's gonna make hard working people have to sit home to take care of their children because they have no other option and then they can receive full benefits on everything. Hey I'm not gonna lie I would love to be with my kids 24/7 so I will never have to miss all the milestones in thier life. This is gonna give everyone the attitude so many already have...... "Why not, everyone else is"

some ppl are just so stupid and they must not have kids......I myself stay at home with my 3 children. We are not on any help because my husband has a good job and we make by. I was looking into going back to work full time because we are needing a new car making us have to have a car payment. When I head about this I said no need to look for a job because I would be paying 300-375 a week in just child care NO THANKS It would be hard to find a job working 40 hours a week to even cover my child care.I guess ky will learn the hard way when they have more ppl on food stamps and getting all kinds of help.

I believe people should be forced to take a birth control shot if they have 2kids or more and are utilizing government assistance. If they want more children, fine, but we the people will no longer raise your children with our "Assistance".( In contrast a single mother in fact does need child care assistance, if working full time only!)
