I am upset because this total distruction of this property did not have to happen. I was approached at the scene and was told the first responders are volunteer. They are not paid nor certified so therefore cannot enter the building. The only thing they can do it spray the outside of the building to keep it from spreading. The other fire departments that respondend were quite a distance from the property and took longer to get there. My concern is what if there was someone trapped or unconscience inside. The inside was distroyed but if there was certified fireman in close proximity I am sure the insurance company and the renters would have been happier. More property could have been saved. This is not to blame the firefighters. It seemed they did the best job they were allowed to do. But for the safety of the people there needs to be changes made. Maybe more money needs to go to the people who risk their lives to save others.
