Hi, we moved here three months ago. And well, it is great that the schools are good here but that is just one piece of the pie as I see it. From what I have seen there is a large number of people here in RH and they come from all over the country. So, many of us use national banks, why can't we have a Wachovia? or Sun Trust here in RH? You have to drive 25 mins or more to get to one. Same with national rest. chains. Fatz, Applebees, Chilis, etc you have to drive to Pooler or Savannah to enjoy those places. Why are there not any here? We are supporting the tax base in those places and not here. Shopping? Target? Lowes? or a Home Depot? And we want to support here! I hear, and you know hear say that those places have been kept out. No growth in those areas. That it isn't wanted here. If this is true how do you plan on keeping people here if you don't grow to meet the needs of the people?(Some of the little mom and pop places can't offer what the other stores have- prices and items) The one piece of the pie (schools) is not enough of a reason for a family to stay. Someone needs to look at the entire picture.

I agree but why did you move there? Small town businesses dont want these companies because it will force them out of business.......chamber of commerce must approve new busnisses that want to come to town.......guess who sits on the chamber? Small town business owners....You can't blame them though....i wouldn't want my company going out of business......was why I didn't move there.

We had two weekends here to find a place to live. Based a good bit on the schools. And when you are looking for a house, kinda hard to focus on the other. We just think those things need to be addressed here. Then it would be a nice place to live. Some people say it is coming, some say it never will.
