Beware of Jessica Boyd when you go get your WIC filled for your child because they apparently think it's a different form of welfare to make sure we have healthy babies. FOR YOUR INFORMATION: It's not in any way a form of welfare, it's to ensure the proper development of children. Not EVERYONE can be living it up at food city making "bank" to support what child? Oh, that's right, you don't have one. So if you think malnourished children are funny, you'll get the last laugh. People can be working two full time jobs and still get WIC assistance so tell me how that is welfare? Think again!

IF YOU WORK TWO JOBS WHY ARE YOU ABUSING THE SYSTEM? I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN KIDS AND NOT DEPEND ON OTHER SERVICE TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. DO YOU SMOKE? IF SO THAT SHOULD BE FOOD ON YOUR KIDS TABLE. DO YOU DRINK BEER? IF SO THAT SHOULD BE FOOD ON THE TABLE FOR YOUR KIDS. DO YOU GO ON VACATION? IF SO THAT SHOULD BE FOOD IN YOUR KIDS MOUTH. DONT DO THINGS FOR YOUR SELF AND LET THE GOVERNMENT KEEP UP YOUR KIDS. I DONT FEEL SORRY FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU. IF I WAS THERE I WOULD LAUGH AT YOU TOO. FOR LETTING THE GOVERNMENT KEEP UP YOUR KIDS THAT YOU HAD FUN GETTING. sOUNDS LIKE A SORRY A$$ TO ME.

It IS a form of welfare if it is given to you by the government (taxpayers)! It is up to the parents to "ensure the proper developement of their children" not the taxpayers! We didn't help you have them! If you have something personal against the Food City worker, then that is a private matter. You can always go to another store to get your free stuff paid for by the taxpayers. Seems you are jealous of someone who works for a living!

There is nothing wrong with someone getting WIC! Alot of people do it,even a nurse that I know! If this was just a simple way to live off of the goverment then I dont think the income level for WIC would be set so high! My ex wife was only 18 when we concieved our first and only child,we recieved WIC but didnot get medicad or any other type of assistance,we could have gotten Medical Assistance because she was very sick during the pregnancy and was advised to not work, but instead I kept her on my insurance. After our son was born we kept WIC for 12 months to help with formula,I see nothing wrong with it! She went back to work 8 weeks after the birth, the system knew our income and we still recieved it! I hate to break it to you but I'ld much rather see working folks get help rather than those who sit on their asses and do nothing live off of my hardworked 12 hrs. a day job!

I work a full time job and I get WIC to help with my kids. And I do believe it is better for me to work and get help then not do a damn thing like most people I see take advantage of it.

I totally agree! My fiancÚ and I both work and still receive WIC. It's hard to buy a 15 dollar can of forumla every 2-3 days plus other expensives such as diapers, medicine, rent to keep a roof over your child's head, etc. no matter your income. I don't have a problem with my taxes paying for the proper nutrition of child, if the parents really need the help. It's different when your a working class citizen receiving help then a lazy bum who won't get a job and abuse it.

I guess the people that dont see a problem with it was brought up knowing I can go to bed and have fun and there is a system out there that will take care of my kids if I get knocked up. People should think about what can happen when they go to bed to have fun. No they dont they enjoy and then if they get knocked there is a system out there to help us with the kids. If it is a good system will have more kids and enjoy our smokes and beer. Let the tax payers keep us up. My parents taught me how to use the system. THERE IS BIRTH CONTROL OUT THERE USE IT

Ppl are so stupid, how are u going to be mad at working parents needing a little help to make sure their kids have milk eggs bread cheese & simple things like that when there is some lazy drugged out asshole getting ur money bc he is to strung out to get a job? tell me that! not everyone is fortunate enough to have a great paying job to pay all of the bills buy ur kids clothes diappers and everything else they need, its not all about keeping ur legs shut or birth control u idiots cause its not like we arnt trying to take care of our kids bc we are its dumb ppl that make us look like we arnt taking care of our kids cause we need a lil help.
Be mad at the ones who dont do anything for a living, not the ones who try! and why be pissed anyhow? your tax money gets taken out regardless, so what if it helps a child...basically all u an do is just get over it!

I know I have a full time job as well as my fiance & we'll still need assistance. Last I realized, most jobs do not have insurance especially the one's around here so people will have to get helped for the critical time of childbirth. On top of that, the two comments after the first fail to realize that there are planned pregnancies not just one's that go have sexual relations for fun. But, I must keep in mind what area we are from and the tight-knitted thoughts of the one's who surround us. Your tax money could be supporting junkies to people that strive to live off the system. These are the one's that you need to worry about. Not someone that needs help with the care of their child's nourishment. I would love to see people that are right in our situations have to go buy formula, diapers, rent, utilities, ect. & keep in mind of the economy. Mind you, most of these people do have college educations or are obtaining those at the moment like my fiance & I. So, continue to be quick to judge it just makes you look less uneducated.

If WIC is such a good program and the money is taken from your taxes, then why don't they just leave the money in your check and let you buy the supplies yourself? It is welfare!

Does not surprise me since 99% of their workforce at the front consist of kids. I really do believe that I have 10 years on some of their managers too!

I have went in there late at night and seen their cashier supervisor hang out near self check outs then wonder around why people need her. Evidently she likes to keep one lane opened as well and can only handle one self check out. Such a joke.

Why dont you people using wic medicaid or any other welfare wait until you finish school and get good jobs before you start producing babies? Herd someone the other day saying her son-n-law couldnt work any overtime because it would knock their kids out of medicaid. His company provides insurance but he has to pay for the family plan. Wow why not work the overtime and take responsibility for your own kids? I call that abusing the system. To damn sorry to work a little overtime to support your kids.

Some can't work overtime? Good jobs sometimes don't offer these types of things. It's not sorry not everyone is going to want to get black lung in the mines sorry! You don't know it all. I am proud for you to be serving in the mines but it's not for everyone. You need to quit being so close-minded. LIKE I SAID IN MY POST EARLIER that apparently you didn't read, some jobs don't offer insurance. You need a serious reality check.

Oh, & kitty, WIC doesn't cover all expenses, just helps. So don't you worry about your taxes. If we can buy most of our supplies for our child no problem we darn sure will. Some of us can't be stay at home mother's we actually have to work our tail's off to support a family. Most of you wouldn't understand that.

Not everyone is able to breastfeed. And WIC actually encourages you to do so if you're able. Some women can't produce milk or their babies don't take to it or aren't able to latch on correctly.

I would say it is hard for some women to breast feed when they are working all day trying to keep their families afloat.

Wonder how many of you bashing medicaid/food stamps/and other assistance grew up eating wic cheese and drinking wic milk? It's not an easy thing to do to file for assistance. I had to do it when my children were little and I worked/paid rent. Do you really think it's that much money these families are receving? It doesn't pay for everything. If you're making a menial wage and you need help then you should get it. Yes people abuse the system but that's when you need to say something. Stop turning your head and turn them in. Medicaid...Would it be better to pay for health insurance and let your kids go without electricity? I pay for health insurance just for myself now and it's $240 per month. How much more for a family plan? Why don't you all donate relief for families in need instead of griping about them getting help from the Government? You have more teenagers working in Richlands than men/women that have families. Why? Your churches are more interested in helping themselves than helping the community. If you aren't solving the problem then you're part of the problem.
