Not so, I went to school there and I now live in the South. I started doing my sisters hair and now I have more clients than I thought I would have in such a short time of moving. They are very pleased with what I know and do to their hair. At this time I work out of my home and am in the process of opening a shop near my house. Most of my clients are driving 20 - 45 min. I give Linda & Jerry at A Wild Hair my praises for teaching me what I know. I attended a day class at one of the schools here where I live as a refresher in order to do a license transfer, the instructor was pleased with the fact that I knew more than what they actually teach. Thank You Linda, for not only teaching me the practicals of doing hair, but for teaching me that if I am good enough and I commit myself to pleasing my clients and working with their schedules as well as my own, they will return and reccomend you to others as well.

"Never been back sense." Assuming you mean since. Before critizing someone else's mistake, make sure you can spell yourself.

if you are serious about getting your cosmetology license do not go to wild hair, their tuition is outrageous and the 750 dollar kits you have to pay for up front to even start are 100 in your marianne catalog. they will rip you a new one. go to a step ahead in abingdon, its 1800 tuition and you can pay monthly payments, and she will give you a student card at cosmo prof and sally to purchase things you need at a much cheaper price, linda and jerry will buy it then charge you 3 times as much as they did, and as much as you already have to pay them monthly its ridiculous.. and if you go to classes when you are supposed to you actually will graduate in 9 months.. hope this helps your decision

well if you knew what you were talking about you would know they do not buy student kits from marianne, never have each item is purchased from, cosmoprof, sallys and new york which includes wahl clippers, peanut trimmers, flat irons from new york, curling irons from sc,books from thompson learning center etc.they use top of line products, backbar and retail,if you notice most salons use bottle color you will never see bottle color being used there the color is better than most the lightening powder is the most expensive that cosmoprof sells they do not use the cheapest of anything!I am an employee and have never seen anyone refuse to pay for any service, the only problems i have winessed is strung out druggies passing out in every chair they sit in and them asking them to leave because they cant stay awake or sit up long enough to receive a service

What is with all of the bad talk about us at A Wild Hair? We all do a really good job and are all really friendly with everyone. As far as school goes, I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to start a great career, and you would greatly benefit from all that you would learn at A Wild Hair. They will teach you all that you need to know plus alot more than most.

well for starters HUM! im pretty sure that 40 hrs a week (since your obviously not too good at math ill break it down for you thats 5- eight hr days) equals 160 hrs a month *r u still with me?* ok, well you multiply 160 times 9 *thats 9months* and you get 1440hrs well the state of virginia requires 1500hrs that leaves 60hrs so thats what another week and a few extra hours here and there. and YEA over $4000 dollars for cosmetology school is a rip off! so my choice would be pay half that for a better education, and just an overall better learning environment, you cant treat people like shit everyday and expect them to want to come back, and its not a great way to teach a student by all the pissed off people that leave there, and no im not talking about the stylists because i dont know the girls down there and i know everyone has bad days and you cant please everyone but, damn you cant screw everyone up either. and if there are girls that come from that school doing good work they must have had some talent before they went cuz it damn sure wasnt from what they were taught there!

well considering i also used to work there and the kits that came in were in a duffle bag shipped in a box from marianne, um yep im pretty sure they order them from there, and top of the line backbar products dont include that shit from sallys! ive never seen a salon that uses bottle color unless they just mix it and put it in a bottle, every i have worked at uses wella redken or matrix. i agree with the drugees but that is everywhere in this area. and yea i remember them ordering the cheapest quantum perms they could buy in bulk and uses them on everyone reguardless of their hair condition! but who knows maybe they have developed a little bit of professionalism over the years..

You need to take a good look at alot of other schools if you think $4000 is to much. I have a friend who paid $8000 and a cousin who paid $6500 and you know what this is not even a start to some of the prices charged. Some schools in some of the other states charge as high as $10000 -$15000 or more. I was glad to pay the $3500 or so at A Wild Hair. Trust me I have done my home work on this stuff a long time ago and it is very affordable compared to alot of others.

i agree in other states they do cost that much, but in tazewell county virginia, its ridiculous, and 3500 isnt the tuition anymore, but i personally dont wanna pay over 4000 to go to school with a bunch of drug addicts that could care less if they graduate or not when im busting my ass to pay that tuition and they get treated like gold..

You have a right to go where you wish, but lets get 1 thing straight...I went to school there and hey their may have been ppl on drugs there, I don't know and it is none of my business, but I for 1 am not on drugs, never haver been and pray to God I never will be. All I can say is watch what you say about ppl because 1 day you will reap those words, it always comes back on you twice a bad.
