I just returned to Richlands to try and find where I was born 70 yrs. ago. I discovered that the Town Hall now sits on the site of the hospital. Met a gentleman in the lobby of the town hall (he worked there) sorry I didn't get his name - but he was very helpful. Also was able to get some drawings of the "Mattie" from the Chamber office. I never knew my mother or father so this was a little bit of information that gives me some connection to another life. I now live in Elkton, Maryland and my married name is McCauley in case anyone would remember anything.

Hey I know I'm not much help but I use to live right up the rd from this hospital I use to love to ride by and look at it!! It always had my interest!! I'm almost positive that my mother was born at this hospital!! So sad that they did away with it!!

I completely agree with you. They shouldn't have torn it down. I made a video of when they were tearing it down. It was sad. My brother and I were both born there.

I was born in this hospital in 1974, It is such a sad thought to me to know that it is no longer there. My elementary school was torn down too. Vansant Elementary, Mattie Williams gone forever :( Im in Philadelphia now and would have loved to take my kids to see where I am from.
