NOT Roy Wright in Cedar Bluff. He is an alcoholic & sometimes does a good job, sometimes awful. He is also demeaning toward his clients and rough with the animals.

Thanks everyone! I'd heard that too about doc Wright. I'd heard several stories about him OD'ing and killing animals that had come in for a spay/neuter. Can't say if that's true or not though.

Do not go to the vet in Cedar Bluff. He is too old and blind to be practicing and will miss vital things. He also charges an arm and leg for things.

no thats not bad at all but how far is the drive and with the gas prices these days shew wee ya know but if you are happy there then thats ok i just dont like having to drive so far to save the money you would use in gas im not downing you or anything thats just how i see it at clinch mountain thier boosters are 3 yr maybe thats the price difference and when it comes to worming my dog is over 100 lbs and needs two doses so that may be why mine is alittle more than a small dog or something i also have gotten my dog a dental cleaning there and it was 160 bucks and in abington they want close to 500 bucks for the same thing i guess its really up to the vet and the area its located but ive heard alot of good things about crab orchard that they are really good im just not gonna drive that far is all

Why are you talking out of your A$$ about things you know nothing about? I have heard a lot of stupidity on here but you take the cake. You are entilted to your opinion about Dr. Wright but making up lies about him being an alcoholic is absurd. Dr. Wright is one of the best men I have ever known and has done more for his community than you have ever thought about doing. You are a damn LIAR.

I have been to both Crab Orchard and Clinch Valley for a various amount of things with both cats and dogs....I have to say Clinch Valley was WAY more expensive and they give you a bit of a hard time if you want/need to split up your payments on an emergency bill. I only go to Crab Orchard anymore, they are wonderful!

Funny, I had the same exact thing happen with my dog at Dr. Munsey in Tazewell. I ended up having to take our dog to clinch valley...they saved him but it cost around a 1,000 bucks! Still don't know what caused it, but it was very odd that it happened only an day or two after he recieved his shots. Once Crab Orchard opened and I met them, I only go there.

I have been to both Wright and Clinch Mountain.

Clinch MT cares only about money and they really have no idea what they are doing with small animals.

They use to be really good with horses, but when they started treating small animals they have no idea what they are doing. If you care for your animal then don't go there trust me and they are WAY to expensive.

Because of this vet my dog suffered needlessly they charged me over $800 for nothing. I ended up having to take her to another vet and she had to be put to sleep if this vet had done there job my dog would still be alive.

The times that I have been to Wright are confusing, sometimes he is good and other times he is abrupt, I have gotten the impression from him that he does the least he can get by with.

I would recommend Dr Reynolds from Veterinarians Associate in Bluefield he is by far the best Vet around and he cares about your animals.

To me I would rather spend more in gas and maybe pay more to see a vet that will do everything they can and is honest and doesn't let money guide there decisions.

They know nothing about small animals because neither of them took small animals in vet school, they only went for large animals. I know this to be a fact.

i am in the veterniary technicain program and we have to learn about large and small animals i could be wrong but i think you have to learn about all animals ..dont hold me to that but so far i have even down to reptiles and all farm animals even chickens the technicans can do all a vet does expect prescribe meds and give the diagnoisis of the illness the animal came in for treatment we can give meds take temps heart rates and so on the techs have to learn everything the vet has to learn im really not sure if you can just take one certain type of animal large or small in school i know you can determine your clinic as to which one im not trying to offend anyone b/c i could be wrong and i really dont know ..just saying that so far i have studied all of them
