Great article! Congratulations members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.(a non-profit public service organization which promotes sisterhood, service, and scholarship) and also to the members of Jack & Jill. Truly a beautiful deed!

Thanks for the kudos shout-out Observer. My local chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.(Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter) helped build 5 houses for needy families, three of which were dedicated this past fall. I would encourage everyone to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity as it truly is a rewarding experience.

It's very impressive what these women can achieve. I knew all along construction wasn't just a man's profession.
Cheers and best wishes.

my wife helped build the porch for the house. she had a great time, said the volunteers were all motivated and the habitat people were stellar to work with. i'm looking forward to getting a shift in.

WOW....what a great project. I've seen a lot lately on community TV with HFH. Wanted to get involved myself, but there seems not to be much info. out there advertising "women only" events. You go, ladies (snap)! This is wonderful in so many ways, and I would think helping some gals to be less dependent on husbands, boyfriends, or "X's"
