The robbery was secondary. The "co-worker" had the knife and was going to use it regardless.

They just needed a reason to use it, and that was robbery.

Very sorry family, and friends....

The suspect, a part-time maintenance employee, LIVES in the HoJo next door to the Holiday Inn Express?

Wow - I wonder if they bothered to do a pre-hire background check on this guy? He sounds like a borderline transient and a bottom-feeder.

Liberals would say that he was abused as a child, didn't have equal access to quality education and healthcare so he should not be convicted. He is a victim.

Once convicted they would say the pin prick of the needle causes too much pain so the death penalty is not fair even though he brutally stabbed this poor lady to death.

I hope they fry him.

This is a horrible tragedy.

I wondered about the Ho Jo thing as well - does seem a little strange.

As a hotel employee I can tell you that anyone with a prior felony conviction of any kind is not allowed to work in most hotels. This is for the safety of the quests as well as the other employees. Remember - this guy had a pass card to each and every room in that hotel.
My prayers to the family that lost a loved one.

I believe it was Mike Huckabee (conversative)who lobbied his Arkansas state parole board to release a convicted rapist who then went out and raped and killed another young woman, and didn't Barak Obama (liberal) just support state's rights to use the death penalty against child rapists, saying that death should be a penalty for such heinous crimes? Stop generalizing.

Here's what he should have done ... registered as a Republican, gone off to Iraq, murdered a girl's family before her eyes, raped her, then killed her. Then the Republicans would be hailing him as a hero ...

The sad thing is this poor lady, died over $150.00 or less. I worked for the hotel/owners for about 5 years. I moved on due to better opportunities in life. It was a job, paid my bills and such, but wasn't enough to pay for college. The owners of the hotel are exceptionally good people. Although, they are of a different culture, they are willing to help most anyone, and give them that "second chance". The guy was homeless and they were there to help. He also has a history of criminal offenses. Most people think, that the owners should be held accountable. My opinion on this is that we live a sad, selfish, and greedy society! Everyone is out for themselves, and at some point...it involves another one's life. Bonnie was a very good hearted, soft spoken, loveable, and peaceful person. It is truly a shame that someone could do this to her. Very very sad. I sure hope that he gets the death penalty...and they do it soon...not 20 years from now....he needs to be done with...completely!!!!

The owners from these hotels have a history of hiring "troubled" people. These people are desperate to work somewhere and they are given a job by these owners because they can get away with paying them crap. Crap = quite less than minimum wage which is totally unfair. They probably don't even know what the minimum wage is! The owners are NOT trying to give someone a chance when they hire them - out of the kindness of their hearts? Absolutely NOT! They only think of the bottom line ...$$$$$ CHA-CHING! And a background check? I don't think so. You could walk in off the street and start working that same day. And amazingly, you don't have to even speak one word of english or the language they speak. Doesn't matter. Willing to work for crap -- congratulations, you have a job. This is a horrible tragedy that will haunt lots of people for a long time. The owners are lucky that something this tragic hasn't happened in years past. They are extremely selfish. And it's catching up to them now!
