A teacher can't put aside his own prejudice while on the job? That's disguisting.

So, this child was an illegal immigrant now? Wow...you people are warped. I hope this this gym "teacher" is fired. I have no problem with the flag being held in the teacher's office until gym is over, because it wouldn't really be conducive to physical activity, but the garbage can and taunts were over the line. Enough said.

The problem is that this is a he-said, he-said incident with no other witnesses. So we don't know really who is telling the truth.

Um, who said he was illegal? My problem is not with the kid having his flag, it is the lawsuit part that bothers hell out of me. If he burned an American flag he'd be touted as a brave and couragous person. Hypocrisy!

But it is more than likely that you would approve of a teacher whose "prejudices" were directed at a student who wanted to discuss conservative values or display any icon related to conservative values.

Do people really think he'd be celebrated if he burned an American flag in school? Really? I think that may be frowned upon by many people in this country. Just because he's celebrating the Mexican flag, does not mean he's desicrating Old Glory. The hatred in this country astounds me...

Who cares about the flag? That's a non-issue compared to the fact that a 16 year old in an American high school has "poor English skills". That is unforgivable, but unfortunately very widespread. And I am not just talking about immigrants. Plenty of students born in this country graduate high school with "poor English skills". THAT is what the ACLU should be upset about.

one is a TEACHER, one is a STUDENT. Not equals. We expect our teachers to allow their students to be proud of their heritage. I don't think if the gym teacher burned an American flag he'd be touted as a hero, you idiot "uh huh". He'd be fired, for all sorts of stuff. Teachers rarely get to set things on fire at school.
Most of you would be way better off moving to China, or North Korea or Iran. You'd love their rules there. They have a real "think like us or else" mentality.
Can I wave my Irish flag on St. Patty's day?(grandpa immigrated illegally during WW2) or should I just "go back to Ireland".
Talk about a ship of fools on this board, holy jeez...

The difference between being able to destroy an American flag and this story is that the flag was not the teacher's to destroy. If he wants to purchase a Mexican flag and destroy it in the middle of the street...I say he has the right. That very distorted right. This was the flag of a child...I can't go to a neighbors house and destroy their American flag.

So, many die for the freedom that the American flag represents and burning it is ok. Millions illegally invade the USA and leach the rescources of our country under the Mexican flag and putting IT in a trash can is bad. Screw you! Go back over the border! Frickin taco vendors!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Sagittarius

It's difficult to keep your mind on what you're doing today because it keeps wandering off in all directions. There won't be much you can do about this except to be aware of it, and preferably to postpone doing anything very complicated or important until you're less distracted and absent-minded. Unfortunately, you won't get very far with it at the moment.
