Rich people bypass the checks and balances in our "democratic" society, and poor people must follow their lead, whether constitutional or not. This stadium issue is a blatant disregard of spending of public monies for personal gain, which is illegal. I am surprised that such an irresponsible undertaking would commence when the El Paso public corruption trials have not even ended yet. Speak up sheople, or don't cry later when your property taxes go through the roof to fund this foolhardy venture (stadium).

The city council members listened and failed to hear the people. IT is a done deal and the only way to stop the entire thing is to go to a state judge and file an injunction to stop the whole process. Make the city council put it into the ballot and have to hold off until May 2013 to act on anything related to the baseball stadium. Maybe we can recall individual council members and have it on the May ballot also.

SHUT UP, STFU NOW! you don't even have any valid reason to be running your stupid pie hole mouth.
You don't care about the poor people,so stop using them to benefit your cause.
You are just mad because you have nothing else better to do and you cry and complain about peoples money as if it were your money. GET A LIFE FOOL!
El Paso public corruption trials have nothing to do with El Paso getting a new stadium for our new baseball team.
Our taxes haven't even gone up yet and you are already crying and trying to create havoc among the herds of naysayers.
The effective rate has not gone up but the evaluation of property did and threat is what drives the raises in taxes. RP Times reported that those with a home valued at $100,000 will have a raise of 18 dollars. That with the tax rate of the county will cause the tax payer another raise in taxes.

Whats wrong with that? that's pretty cheap, so what did you want to pay, One Nickle?
It is time that you cheap people naysayers start paying your fair share and start contributing to the city for the better.
I am sick and tire of seeing an ugly city that is going nowhere.
Get on board and lets take El Paso to the future, and the future is now, or move out of town.
Why should I have to pay for the stadium or moving the city hall? Those who are retired and on a fixed budget get hurt when not only the city but the county, schools and hospital district leave the effective rate alone instead of lowering the effective rate by one tenth of one percent. They are in effect lying to us about not raising taxes.

One dollar here, ten dollars there and once all the small tax increases are added, it can be a hardship for some. Once retired, cola increases on retired pay and SSA are ver small. Eventually, over the years, of small increases, the retiree cant make it.

There are some things that can't be shined,
Crap is one of them.

The el paso corruption generator needs to be crushed BEFORE good people put good money into what you envision as a future!
