I am a Real Estate Professional here and have just lost 5 sales from people that do not want to move here because your taxes are too high. We need to lower the taxes here, not raise them. Also the taxes should be based on Mel levies, VOTED ON and Not based on what your tax people think FAIR MARKET VALUE is!!! Most of my research shows that your tax appraisers are WAY OFF, and WAY TOO HIGH ON THE MARKET VALUE OF HOMES all across Montgomery County.

Couldn't agree more, KT.

Increased property taxes simply discourage growth which decreases the local tax base.

Lower the property tax.
Encourage continued local growth.
Motivate increased support of local business.

Ran across this site looking for sombody to fight for me on the 8.3% raise that Montgomery Co is trying to get. They are showing my property to double this tax season. The value of my propery has decreased in this resession. Not incerased. We need to fight these mongrels tooth and nail.

I found this beautiful home in the Porter area,I was very curios about the property tax rate, after finding this site by accident,I am sad to say that my family and I have decided AGAINST the moving to Porter. It is such a nice city. This RECESSION has caused a great DEPRESSION to the people wanting to move here and the ones already here,a DEPRESSION futher pushed by the county officials OMISSION of what's best for the community. OH WELL VACANT HOUSES EVRYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Aquarius

It's a sociable and gregarious mood my dears, so it would be a shame to keep yourself to yourself. Not that there's much likelihood of that, because with the Moon in Leo and your seventh house of others, your popularity is on the rise and you're in demand. Why not go out with your other half, or meet some friends? Get everyone together for a drink or a meal.
