Ok first off I understand the concept of trick or treat. I enjoy Halloween and have taught my children to enjoy the holiday also. But the line was crossed last night. At least for my 5 year old. He got the great experience of waking up this morning to a smashed Jack-o-lantern in the front yard. Ok so you say no big deal. Perhaps. But picture your child waking up on the morning of his birthday, excited to show his Great Grandfather the pumpkin he worked so hard on. That he was very proud of. Only to find some Jackass or several jackasses had trespassed into our yard came onto our porch and smashed his pumpkin into many pieces. So to the little prick or the parent that has not put any decentcy into their child. The smashed pumpkin is there waiting for you to clean up. Not that you ever will. THe problem is the parent is probably just as bad as the child.

I'm sorry that this happened to your son and I can imagine how you felt. What's wrong with people like this? Parents were probably stoned, drunk or too busy to care about what the kid was doing if it turns out that it wasn't an adult. Again, I can imagine the heartbreak that your son felt - and expect this to happen again if you leave it outside next year.

I understand that you are upset about your pumpkin and the actions of who ever did this is very unacceptable. But why is it always the parents part. I know that some kids who have wonderful parents do bad things too. Don't always blame the parents. Kids do stupid things and are influenced by peers and by the spur of the moment. And how do we know that this wasn't an action from a college student? I wish that we would step back and look at who really needs blamed and not always the parents. Sometimes the kids are the true ones to blame.

I was wrong, you sir, are a sick FUCK! You obviously have no children and if you do I would advocate the state to take them from you. And I typically think the child welfare department is one of the most power hungry departments of any state government. But in your case the children would be better off without you. A previous poster said you must have been bullied as a child, perhaps, or maybe abused. But once again you are a sorry sorry excuse for a human being.

The guy that posted this is probably the guy that smashed the pumpkin. Why waste anymore time on someone like this- doesn't deserve the attention he obviously is trying so desperatly to get. KING RING TONE wrote: <quoted text> Your child will be a big puss, wait till it finds out there aint no santa

I am so sorry for your son also. My son carved his 1st one this year, & I figured there would be some moronic teens running around unsupervised trashing peoples pumpkins- so- I let him put it outside while we handed out candy, & then brought it in when we went to bed. It's very sad, and I do believe it does have to do with how the kids are raised based on moral value, and a concience if they had one. Not only that- there are a lot of parents more worried about partying themselves which leaves the children to run the streets at all hours causing havoc! I don't believe in abusing children, but a good swift kick in he butt (so to speak) every now & then isn't out of the question if it's deserved. You can't even look at your kids cross eyed now with out someone screaming abuse....and they KNOW IT! I didn't get spanked often, but the few times I did- I remembered, and it made me think twice before acting stupid. My point being is that apart from "probable" neglectful parents, mixed in withlack of discipline IS the cause. I hope your child has a better holiday next year :) proudfsresident wrote: Ok first off I understand the concept of trick or treat. Sorry about the pumpkin being smashed-some kids just don`t care. Now for the adults-I am sorry you can`t keep the bad words off this site. There are other ways to say what you want without F word. Wonder how your kids talk? If this site is going to become trashy-then I am out.

There is a trailer loaded with leftover pumpkins at the First Church of the Nazarene(where I attend). You could come by and get a new one for your child to carve and be proud of. They are leftovers from a fundraiser for our teens. God can turn a foul situation into a learning experience. When you change the way you look at the world, the world begins to change! -In Christ's Love
