I can see where having power lines are necessary above ground, because at least when power goes out it's easier to find the problem then going underground. That said, I look at the power lines strung all over our neighborhood and all the trees that get butchered to keep them from interferring with the power lines - and see all the uglies the power lines cause and I hate them. While the "above ground" power lines might make it easier to fix power outages, they also, aside from being ugly, run into problems (some hazardous) so much easier then the "below ground" power lines because they're just flat out in the way of life. When ever there's a storm - you can count on power outages that end up lasting a long time sometimes. Why can't they figure out a system to lessen the risk and ugly both? Enough inconvenience already!
