Single Father Turned Away From Homeless Shelters

Full story: www.huffingtonpost.com

Attila Streyar and his toddler daughter Layla are homeless reports Barbara Grijalva of Tucson's KOLD News, and because he is a single father, Streyar had been turned away from several shelters. "I'm a single dad and I have this baby and we've fallen upon hard times," he said through tears. "I needed some help, just to get shelter. There was no place in this town that I could find that takes care of men with children by themselves."

Go to the Church. They'll take you in or find some help.

Only if you're a pre-teen male. Then they'll take real good care of you. They're Republicans, too, you know!

Sorry Attila and daughter Layla, this world don't seem to fall for stories of single father like yours. They do care about single mothers and yes, it is double standard when comes to whom they pity. Fathers are doomed until and unless someone out there willing to fight for us.

I have often heard politicians say " We have acquired shelter for all the women and children in this cold snap". Apparently men don't get cold...

So many of societies problems would be solved if more often we were to walk in another's shoes.

How sad that there was nothing for this father. I think that there needs to be at least a wing for men too. I understand that they are trying to protect women that may be victims of abuse, but there has got to be a better way. While they denied the man entrance, the child was denied too. If these places get public funding a lawsuit may be in order as more single fathers than ever before are joining the ranks of the homeless.

The article was severely lacking, but I bet regulation is the probably causing this. Too much liability to house a single male. I really hope that is not the case. Probably because 99% of the people there are women with kids. If it was that sort of theme shelter.

Yeah, this single father will surely hurt the rest of women and children. Apparently single mothers never make advances towards men and boys .........

If I can't volunteer at a daycare center because of liability concerns. It's no stretch that this father would be denied for the same reason. I doubt me walking into the daycare with a child in my hand would have made a difference.

The point is that apparently the cold a man feels is not as stressful or as bitter as the cold of a woman or child. Men don't get Pneumonia. Men don't die in allies alone.

Rescuing women and children first on a sinking ship is one thing, leaving people out in the cold because they don't fit some requirement is cruel and capricious.

Men go to war and fight and die defending freedom. It is men and sons who get rounded up in an ethnic cleansing. When they dug those mass graves, they found men (genitals all removed).

Men more often than women have to part with their belongings in divorces.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Scorpio

If you've been surrounded by people during the past few days you welcome the chance to have some time to yourself today. It's a wonderful excuse to do something really indulgent in private, such as scoff a whole box of chocolates while watching a favourite film on TV. But make sure you destroy all the evidence before everyone else comes home!
