I use to live in Stockbridge as a child and teen I have the fondest memories. It was a wonderful place all the kids played outside until late we walked to each others houses alone noone ever felt unsafe. After reading this forum I was just in unbelief of all the bad thats going on there now. I came back about 12yrs ago and I know it has built up so much but my goodness just saddens my heart to think the place that meant so much to me growing up has now become a place I would be afraid to go out at night much lest let my children out of my sight. I really hope this forum just makes it seem worst than what it really is. I hope for the people that live there that your children have the same wonderful childhood there as I did. And does anyone know what happen to the Bunns and Cathy alutry(?)???

I dont know those people, but I can relate to your disappointment in the area. I have lived in Conyers all my life and it has gone very much downhill. The schools used to be some of the best public schools, and everyone felt safe. I dont leave the house anymore without a gun n my hip, and my children will be going to private schools. That is, if we dont move first, which is looking quite likely.

Why are the people wrtiting these comments and beating around the BUSH about the real reason. The reason is the same as Clayton County. When blacks move in crime goes up and the big stores relocate to areas where the residents are honest and work for a living. Im not afraid to comment the truth instead of ignoring the real reasons.

Thank the Olympics. When they started building in Atlanta to accommodate the Olympics in the 90's they removed a lot of public housing. Most relocated to Clayton County. Go to your city council meeting, and county commissioner meetings and demand they deal with the issues. It won't ever be what it was, but it can be better than it is.
