The child predator is going to be convicted and used up in prison, not a pretty thought, but he deserves to be tortured until he bleeds to death. Inmates despise child molesters. If he has any brains he will choose suicide before prison.

I have followed this story since the story broke. My daughter was a newborn. It sickens me to this day. So he didn't sit on a park bench outside her school but he still became involved. I do not care about her past. He was the adult. Still think about this now young woman and hope she is well. As far as the fireman well hope he is in heaven for at least half an hour before the devil knows he's dead.

Ok. First thing’s first - Suzanne, I was truly touched by your post. At the time of the trial and even now, I didn't realize there are people out there - complete "strangers" - who have heard about/followed my story and were on my side from the get-go... at least not outside of the Metrowest (the county Ashland, MA is in). Thank you for your kind words; they mean more than you know... <3

Anyway, here are some of my other thoughts – not directed at you, of course, Suzanne – after reading the rest of the new comments on this handy-dandy thread (SIDENOTE: I REALLY can’t believe people still post them after almost 7yrs).

I have known about this "blog" since it appeared on Topix right after the first trial (which, for those who aren't "up to speed" ended in a mistrial - 11 jurors voted "guilty"; apparently, 1 juror refused to sway from her "not guilty" vote... I was told she thought the whole thing could've been a setup, and interpreted "reasonable doubt" to mean NO DOUBT at all).

The thread had reached over 600 comments by the time of the second trial... a fact that the ADA made known at Jeff's sentencing, as it strengthened his argument that whatever sentence Jeff received would set a precedent of sorts for sentencing in similar cases in the future. In other words, people were following the case (continued in next post).

I wanted to make all of that clear for two reasons:

#1 - Based on my experience, it is NOT illegal to share your opinion on this case (or anything similar) on a blog like this. If you're against the convicted, the First Amendment protects your right to "blog" about it. If you're against the victim, you're protected, too. That's what the First Amendment is for.

These types of things only become illegal when someone is harassed directly. Just to "break it down" for those who STILL disagree, here's the definition of "harassed":

Subject to aggressive pressure or intimidation.
Make repeated small-scale attacks on (an enemy).

The comments on this blog just don’t fit this definition. Any questions? Good.

#2 - The only other time these types of things can result in legal action is in the case that the sharing of these "opinions" crosses the line into slander. The thing is (again, for those who may not be clear), virtually NOTHING written about Jeff on this blog does, as (at the VERY least) everything that's been written about him regarding this case is someone's "OPINION" on an act the MAN IS CONVICTED of committing. Just in case, let me expound... here's the definition of slander:

Jeff damaged his OWN reputation when he raped me (NEWSFLASH: A 24yr old MAN coercing a 14yr old girl to have sex with him over an extended period of time is RAPE. Period.).

Oh... and as a side-note, I mentioned I was a VIRGIN at the time (as a 14yr old girl SHOULD BE) because I was a VERY innocent, naive CHILD when Jeff chose to take advantage of me. Even if I hadn't been a "good kid" (no sex, drugs and rock 'n roll for me, no sir - not until LONG AFTER I ended the abuse by telling a camp counselor what was going on).

So, ya - all that stuff about me being a sex-crazed teen that accused Jeff of rape because I was jealous of Keri is FAR from fact-based.

That stuff about how I'm not reliable because I was a drug abusing stripper? Ya. Stuff got crazy, yes – but it was LONG AFTER JEFF BELMORE RAPED ME. In fact, it was a DIRECT RESULT of the rape.

The moral of the story is, if anyone was slandered here, it was ME.

Sincerely appreciate you and your intelligent, thoughtful post. Yes, I am sure many people silently supported you through the last 7 plus hell like years.I personally could not let the next 7 years go by with you perhaps believing others did not stand by you 100 percent. I am so relieved you know in your heart you did absolutely nothing wrong. I can only imagine how you personally had to rise above public opinion. I wish you find only joy in this world.

Algoodhesrt, I know. Sick people in this world. You know what they say about charma. No doubt that is the case here. Because in the end you know who will get his. Sounds bitter but, we can only hope. Can you imagine people supporting this sick and in my opinion evil man.
So crystal clear to many of us normal people as to what he did to his victim, whom I hate that I just described this now young woman. In the end he will meet his maker.
