Good to hear it! Did you provide any specific paperwork (Viking contract, bankruptcy stuff, etc)with your return?

Yes, I gave my accountant the Viking contract, a copy of the cancelled check, and claim form for the Attorney General's office.

Forgot to claim it, so will have to file amended.
Would it be for 2006 when they first went out of business or 2007 when their stuff was auctioned off? Think that confused me.

What is with you people..my God...when someone is down make sure you keep kicking him...make sure he never gets up. I mean, Joe Pedoto has been part of the Winthrop Family for years and he is going through some tough luck and yes it looks like he "screwed" everyone for their money but has anyone heard Joe's side of it? It is obvious he is in a huge law suit and cannot talk about it. But, jeez...doesn't anyone remember the cold nights when Joe would come out in the truck to deliver the oil himself? I lost money and yes, it hurt and yes...I wanted Joe to suffer...unfortunately, I got my wish...look at what this man and his family has lost! It is time to cut some slack and let him be....

I haven't seen anyone slamming Joe lately, but since you mention it Joe made bad choices and is paying the price for them. Joe got greedy. He didn't pay attention to the businesses he already had and tried to buy up more. Joe let people who were less than qualified advise him and chose to take their direction. Joe let some of his office staff get away with murder and couldn't be bothered. Joe made choices, business choices and moral choices, the people who trusted him got screwed. Many people on fixed incomes lost money, did he care? Not even an apology! He put himself in the position he is in, why should anyone cut him slack? Joe came to deliver oil himself because it was his JOB as owner of his company, it was not his job to swindle customers. Joe didn't care about his Winthrop Family when he was screwing them over. Do I feel sorry for Joe Pedoto? Not in the least. He is getting what he deserves right now.

Absolutely. Whether purposely malicious or not, his actions put him where he is now.

No one has heard his side of the story because he's never given it. The local paper went to talk to him at least once as did Channel 5 and his lawyer has been on TV at least once and all anyone got was how he was a victim, would "fight the good fight" and the "truth will prevail". It's been what-18 months- and nothing said about what really happened to over a million dollars, including claims that they were taking money up to the end. I know a lot on Winthrop people--when was the last time he put oil in a tank for Viking? And was he volunteering when he did? An error in judgment is when you crack someone's tail light in a parking lot, not this. This blog is a good thing. Where else can people get any information or keep track of things? From the local paper? Please!! The AG's office? Anyone heard from them? I have a friend who intends to go the court and look at the papers on his "huge lawsuit".. will let you know.

Bolster's Oil Co will open up shortly. The office will be housed at the former (late) Sully's Pro Pizza next door to Bolster's shop. The final touches are being put on everything.

There was small article in Herald few days ago about a new judge named to replace Somma. Nothing about the Viking oil case though.

Well, it's nice to see some activity out here, but looks like no news from court, trustee or AG's office? Has anyone contacted any of them?
