Van Campen vs DeMaria
I don't know who will win but I have never and will never vote for DeMaria. Mayb the city will get better than a 10% turnout

There must be other canidates running i heard millie cardello is running, I wonder who else is going to run. DeMaria's time must be up. The city always changes every year with politics. It is going to be a dirty campaign for sure....

Every election we say DeMaria should not get re-elected and guess what? the only voters who show up are his "people" and we are stuck with this loser again. Probably happen again but this time we will have him for 4 years.

your right no one takes the mayor job to heart, I am glad there are people who are going to be running, it will be the same people who came out 2 years ago that will come out this time too, and that is very sad

If we want a chance at a Better Everett, please vote Robert Van Campen for Mayor. It's important to spread the word and get everyone out there. If not we will be stuck with Carlo for 4 more years, while our taxes go up as he gives his unqualified friends jobs and sticks his name on any wall, plaque or t-shirt in Everett

I think this election is going to be really important even with this casino talk going on. there needs to be a change. There has to be a way to get a bigger turnout, and there will be i jave a feeling this race will set a record for voters in everett.. Minoritys in this city need to pay attention and vote too, cause its just us white people voting.. This guy just got some absurd raise are you kidding me for what. Hes already got a ton of money, and there are thousands of people in this city just trying to get by.

Think about this as per who is voting and who is not voting - in any election.

True Everett residents - those of us that have Everett's best future at heart - we vote -- mostly we are senior citizens - yea some parents with school-age children and some career people. What percentage of the registered voters these groups comprise I'm not sure.

Then we have so many two and three family houses in Everett (think Vernal Street, Walnut Street, Central Avenue, Glendale Street, and the list goes on and on.

So how many of these occupants are section 8 renters ? or people who rent w/o section 8? These groups tend to be transients - they move from city to city with no vested interest in the city they currently reside in. In all probability these people do not vote -- or they vote for the politicians who promise them lots of freebies....not always in the best interests of Everett citizens.

Our two 'infamous' politicians seem to know how to go after the absentee ballots and probably 'sway' them to vote for the politician who brings them the absentee ballot....I would wager that the percent of absentee ballots were sent in via seniors - and of that percentage, probably most reside in our (previously built as senior housing) developments. A lot of them possibly are intimitated and vote for the one bringing the ease of an absentee ballot -- now not ALL of them of course but I'd wager a hefty percent of this group.

Anyone agree/disagree with the above thoughs? Any dialog on this subject ?

I cannot wait to help in getting Robert VanCampen elected as our next Mayor. We need him to bring class back to City Hall. We have not had anyone with any real realization of what direction this city should go it. Thank you Robert for stepping up.

I think a race between ONLY Van Campen and Dimaria would be very close and Van Campen would have an excellent chance of winning. Throw in a third candicate (i.e. Millie Cardello) then we'll have Dimaria for another 4 years.

When tings get tough Van Capen gets weak. Not going to be a good mayor period. He is such a dink he will not run anyway. just my opinion!

"Regular" you deserve what is going on in this City because of our Mayor. No American stores left. Another Spanish grocery store going to open in the Old Sporting Goods bldg. Just what we need. I definetly will be leaving Everett if Mayor is reelected.
