The same 4 years where local aid is down? The same 4 years were healthcare expenses are through the roof? The same 4 years were we have started repaying the high school dept? The same 4 years were we have had increased payments to the pension fund? The same 4 years that have seen an influx of immigration as a result of lax federal regations?

Come on. Do you really want to have this argument? With all of the items I listed above, what is your counterargument ..... Overwatering? Planting trees on Sunday? Department heads making too much money?

Antnee at it again. No idea what it's like to be a taxpayer. Be seen and not heard and let the grown-ups talk.

"Overwatering? Planting trees on Sunday? Department heads making too much money?"

Yes as a matter of fact for a start. If I wanted to live in a high RE tax city, I would have moved a long time ago. I'd also like to be able to park on my street without having to pay the city $15 a year. With these tax rates, that should be included. I don't want my car towed on a random Wednesday that I'm home and forget it's street cleaning. I'd like it if there weren't so many foreclosures and absentee landlords that rent to low lifes and don't take care of their property. I'd like my nice tree lined street back. I'd like a mayor who when he says hiring freeze actually means it.

The sanctuary city of Everett needs no help from the Feds to attract illegals on it's own.

listen I agree and hope this dope does not get reelected but the entire city council thats always bringing up the flag all took their video in ectv with the flag hung wrong. stars are always top left. Sure it ectv fault but one of them should have known. Leo a big advocate for the flag should have noticed that. Outside I blame Hickey he's no good. The American flag and MIA were torn and one blown away not replaced until someone put it out in public.

He has had four years to make this city a better place to live, and it has not changed for the better in all that time. Get rid of him and all his cast of characters before we go bankrupt.

To RESIDENT: You said it ALL!!!- I especially like the the last one about our wonderful flag !!! I'd like to rip ALL the blue & yellow flags down and replace with the red, white and blue !!!!! If you love your country so much, go home and fly it there !!!!! I never understood why our city veterans tolerate the mis-use of OUR flag !!!!

I think we ALL need to take RESIDENT's LIST with us as we go to vote - it says it all - love it !!!!

You people should let the kids run the league. They're probably more mature than you all seem to be.

What's the big secret anyway about the elections? How many people even know about the website? How about a notice in the paper at the very least?

Mayor DeMaria, Jr. should be removed from the Office of Mayor. I have been an Everett resident my whole life and I'm extremely not happy with this Mayor. This is my list of what the Mayor is doing wrong:

1) I'm not happy on what he is doing with the school situation.
2) Giving protection to illegal immigrants who live in Everett.
3) 3 family on my street, we are noticing a lot more vehicles on the street that don't have stickers. For a 3 family, there is about ten vehicles.
4) I found out that Mayor DeMaria has $5 billion.
5) The lottery money which could help keep preschool and special education.
6) Mayor DeMaria, Jr. is trying to get rid of the Mr. Frederick F. Foresteire, Superintendent of Schools, because they don't like him.

My daughter needs to have the preschool as well as special education. I understand that their are people who have already grown children and they don't want to pay but be reasonable. This is the next generation of children who needs help and if we cannot get the resources there the ones who suffer for it.

Mayor DeMaria, Jr. doesn't want the public to know this. I found out about this from a couple of people who work for the City of Everett.

This actually sickens me. It's ok to go bond 10 million dollars for projects that are in Chelsea, but when it comes to the schools the city council is going to act like it's doomsday. If it was not for a few aldermen, we would have been stuck with a 10 million dollar loan instead of 4.5 (which they brought it down to)

That's how the city council operates. They do whatever the mayor wants and if they/he does not like you, they will rake you over the coals. The city council cant rake the mayor because they all owe him. Everett got over 5 million dollars in lottery money to use in any way they wanted. I've asked a few people what happened to that money and no one knew OR knew anything about it. It's public information. In the mayors speech he said we are doing fantastic financially. If that's the case then there should be no problem giving to the schools after all, the city only gives what's mandated by the state, and not a dime more. The children are our future and currently receiving a terrific education. We want them to be the best they can be in society and that's not going to happen when you cut teachers and penny pinch them. Penny pinch the mayors pet projects!

I think the preschool could be tweaked but brilliant post.
