I grew up in McCreary Co and left for the army when I was 18. I visit there from time to time. From reading the post on here you would believe McCreary CO. Is a garbage dump.

1. Jailer can,t keep the jail open. Then complains about a job making 100,000 a year doing what others are doing for 2-8 dollars.

2. Sherif can't shut down the meth labs. Everyone seems to know where they are. Why does he not know.

3. Judge can't get no knew businesses to open up there. There several companies that would love to have cheap labor 8-10 hour and a tax break for five years. This would put tons of money in the county.

Fixes

1. Can't do your job your fired. When some one is locked up charge them $10 a day for there food. Jail needs repair apply for federal aid. Money missing find it and put the person in jail that stole it.

2. Make several reports where the labs are. If no response is made. Call ATF and FBI. If some one is not doing there job right let the Feds catch them and put all involved in jail.

3. Continue calling the office asking them to get companies to open up in the county. As judge one of you responsibilities is to have a budget plan. If you have $10 and spend $20. Something is broken and its there job to fix it.

Sounds like you have been keep tabs on the County. That pretty much sums up what 33% of the county thinks, now if we could just get the other 66% to vote them out we would have it made. To bad, 33% is kin to them and the other 33% just don't give a sh!t.

1. Who are the so called new businesses that would "love" to have cheap labor here along with 5yr tax break? Who? Please name them for us.
2. How are you going to get $10.00 a day from a inmate who doesn't have any money? What is plan on how you would make them for sure pay?.....I can't figure that one out.
3. Apply for federal "aid"? What are we going to write in the request?....Uh, we need some money here to help run the jail because...because..uh...we...u h..we don't know how to manage and work a budget like we know we should. So please excuse our ignorance and send some right away.
4. Keep calling the office asking them to get companies to open up here?.....Why didn't we all think of that one? Listen, first of all, companies will look for and go to places that already have infrastructure set up and ready to handle the demands the company will need in order to operate.(Or will have readily access to the infrastructure.) Secondly, It is mostly entrepenuers that bring businesses in by buying a piece of land from an individual and having enough assets in order to buy a franchise or start their own company from scratch. All that has nothing to do with county officials. If you want a certain type of business then it is an individual that puts the business in, not the county. It's individuals who own the land here other than the park service and forest service land. Don't know of much land the county owns.
5. Blah blah blah.....blah. The end.

And now you read a note from one of the 33%, you guess which one.

On your first question, why don't you call Doug and ask him, who he has turned away.

I must say I don't need to call him. I already know the answer and understand logic to things. Some people just don't have the ability to grasp and comprehend. My apology for speaking up on the earlier post and busting your bubble with reality.

You sound like you would be one of the simple minded people who think magic wands actually do exist, and that things are so simple to see and fix with vague ideas......And by the way, your percentages you made up with your magic wand are no doubt simple minded too....Didn't mom, dad or someone tell you the difference between magic wand fairy tales and reality? I guess maybe you got it going on in your head thanks to Charlotte. Some Pig.

1. They are several factories of all types. Some moving back from china. The movie business is a great way to bring money into the county. They are several movies being made in small towns and in the wilderness. Michigan had several movies made here in the last five years by giving them tax breaks. They stopped the tax breaks and the movie productions went else where. The governor of MI. Recently contacted Remington to get them to move there head quarters from Newyork to Michigan after newyork passed there new gun laws. A good start would be to call the governor and ask what companies are they talking to about opening up in Ky. Then see what could be done to get those companies to choose McCreary Co.

2. The county jails here charge 12 a day. Yes you will not get money from everyone but more will pay than wont. You start out by awarding restitution to the jail. Then when not paid you issue a bench warrant for contempt. You also report it to the credit agency. Not all but most people don't want a statement on their credit. Showing they where in jail.

3. A good start for money for the jail would be the 100,000. The bailer is getting paid. If money is missing ask him to resign or investigate what happened to it and press charges if it was used unlawfully.

4. Refer back to answer one.

I'm not trying to start an arguement. Just would like to see better things for the county. I do not know it all. But would be willing to find out how things are being done here in MI. And put people in contact with people. I am not saying MI is better than KY. Someday I would like to move back there. What I can say is if I don't know something and the guy next to me does. It won't hurt to ask him how.

Maybe right again who was your second post referring to.

Remember Rome was not built in a day.

If your trying to go some where and you stand still waiting for some one to carry you. You won't make it very far.

The main reason companies wont move in here is they look at the work force in existing companies. Most here wont work 5 days a week. The national average of absenteeism was 4 days a year last I checked. People here will miss that in a month. Plus, if you go in these factories and watch these people work, they just lull back and forth like they are half dead until it's time to go home and then they are bushy tailed. If they want more jobs here, they are going to have to show up and actually work.

I'm going to assume you are not the actual governor. Since u spelled it wrong and it would not be very politically correct to speak the way you did about the residents that vote.

Everyone has a right to there own opinion. I'm going to disagree and believe if some phone calls where made and some letters where written. That they are some companies that would open in The county.

May be right again, we will just sit on our @ss and do nothing. Thank you for convincing me, that no matter what people try it just will not work in this County, because we have too many people that think just like you do. If I had a Magic Wand I surely would use it to make people with your mind set disappear. LOL

You have been smoking crack again I see and are talking out of your head. If you look back just a few years you had at least two companys in McCreary county that employed 100s of people. American Bag Corp. and LeSport Sac. This was before Clinton signed in the NAFTA agreement that sent alot of factorys running south like their asses were on fire to get cheap labor (like they payed anything here). American Bag alone employed over 1400 people at the factorys in Stearns and Winfield Tn. There are people here that would like to have a job close to home and will work every day and then overtime just to have a job. I hate it when someone says the people in McCreary county will not work because I know better. Be on the road north in the morning and in the afternoon and you will see the people in the county going north to Somerset to just have work. So when you say the people in McCreary county will not work I beg to differ. I say you are full of it to say the least.

You're right Bog Dog. I love McCreary County that is the reason I never moved. I have always had to work outside the county.

Is it that not many people use this site or that no one wants to speak up.

Is the old shirt factory still open. If not let's get a factory to open up there. I will help and make the calls. Just need the support of some people still living there.

The old shirt factory building housed part of the Sport Sac factory for a while, it now is a company called Armor Shield that makes bulletproof vests. Armor Shield does not employ many, maybe a few dozen.

Can you call and tell them. All of them because there are all kinds of them that would just love to come here for that low wage pay and tax breaks. Has nothing to do with infrastructure ain't that right Wilbur? Show us all how it is done because we need lessons on how to make it happen with just a phone call. And while you are at it could you write a letter for some federal aid?
