No, they should meet the same fate as the woman who allegedly hired them, and the husband should be checked out, too.
I agree, the jails & prisons are full enough. Time to thin out the thugs and lowlifes.

Guthrie's River House. Stephens was a waitress, Prater was a bartender.

The Three Stooges got caught! No winners here. It is sad to know that we have people that would kill for such a small amount of money. That could have been any of our family members that was almost killed. Some scumbags will do anything. Thank God this has a happy ending. A BIG Thank You to the neighbors.

~~ Police in Pulaski County said Wednesday that two more arrests have been made in a McCreary County murder-for-hire plot.

The Pulaski County Sheriffs Office, assisted by the United States Marshal Service, arrested Antonio A. Turner, 21, of Somerset and Joseph Denning, 20, of Somerset. Both men have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree complicity to commit robbery and unlawful imprisonment.

One of the people involved in the alleged crime, Timothy Prater, 30, was arrested last Friday by Kentucky State Police. Prater told police during his interview that he was paid $1,500 to kill Debbie Taylor of Pine Knot.

The woman believed to be behind the murder-for-hire plot, Regina Stephens of Pine Knot, was found dead in her home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound when police went to serve an arrest warrant for her on Friday

According to the citation report, Prater and two other men, believed to be Turner and Denning, approached Taylor at her home around 5:30 a.m. Thursday and identified themselves as FBI agents.

The men handcuffed her, assaulted her and used a stun gun, said police, who added that Taylor would have likely been killed had it not been for neighbors who responded to the commotion.

The men left the scene after neighbors refused to leave, investigators said.

Police told LEX 18 this was not a random crime but a targeted attempt. They said Stephens and Prater knew each other from working at a Pulaski County restaurant.

Police would not comment on a motive but said Stephens knew Taylor's husband.

Turner and Denning are being held in the Laurel County Detention Center.~~

What about the one dumb-a$$ that was caught, the (PRATER) guy. Now he is saying that he was trying to save her life. YEA RIGHT!!! He should have called the police before it went that far. He is only sorry that they were caught by the neighbors. Thank God for this woman's neighbors, they saved her life. WE ALL NEED NEIGHBORS LIKE THEM. THEY ARE THE TRUE HEROS!!! There is no doubt that if they would have left with this woman she would have be found dead. People will do anything for a pill or a little money.
..........a few questions disturb me.. obviously when something like this happens the police like to close a case as quick as possible with a suspect in jail or in this case deceased;;; It is mr praters word against a now dead lady who cannot defend herself... Mr Prater obviously is trying to frame his 2 cohorts and has lied about what his involvement was at the scene of Debbie Taylors residence.. Why not frame someone else who you may not like I hope the law enforcement people don't just close this case based on Mr Praters statements about miss stephens unless there is other proof she paid him money or requested a hit man.. Just because someone is found dead in their home does not make them a criminal or does it necessarily mean she killed herself I dont see it an open and closed case based on just these assumptions.. I hope the family of miss stephens demands more answers and details..sounds like to me she was a very good person.. also lets just assume that miss stephens was involved with this case ..If you know the law is coming to either question you or arrest you for attempted murder ..Why would you just sit in your house and take your life...You certainly know you will go to jail or at the least you may try to defend yourself and plead not guilty..and take your chance s..or as most people make a run for it and take some money and hit the road,, what do you have to lose shooting yourself just doesnt add up to me....With Mr praters past rap sheet A good lawyer can make him out to be a liar and unreliable person pretty quickly...It may all have gone down as said in the end but Too many weird unanswered questions for me

....another thing...If miss Stevens was romantically involved with D Taylors husband why would she need to hire a hit man to kill his wife.. why wouldnt he be the one knocking his wife off this is usually what happens..Maybe she just said Ok Mr Taylor since we are so hot for each other and you dont have the money or nerve to knock your wife off I am so insanely in LOve with you I will pay the hit man out of my money and take the fall if we get caught and you can just go on with your life and visit me in jail once in awhile...yea right.....think it over too many things don't add up with this whole story at least at this point.. If you live in that county or city PLEASE dont let this die until all the rocks are overturned

Here is the bottom line at least at this time....If all that is stated about this case by the media and Mr Prater is true then.......at the absolute least Mr Taylor has to be arrested for attempted murder of his wife as soon as possible....unless the law enforcement people think that Miss Stephens was gonna surprise her lover next time she saw him by having his wife killed with out him consenting or even knowing thing about it..Miss Stephens appeared to be a very attractive lady that I doubt was that desperate to be with Mr Taylor to that extent.. I guess when she would have had his wife knocked off they could have went out to dinner and he would have said Thanks for doing the job I never thought of doing that.. Lets go down to lake cumberland for the weekend for a boat ride Im sure the cops would never suspect me in the murder of my wife.... Yea right still does not make any sense to me6046

Well kinda what the others are saying... IF the lady was brave/stupid/possessed enough to shoot herself, looks like she would've just saved the $1500 & got the pleasure out of killing the home wrecking woman herself and THEN shot herself! This is bs & will go unsolved in the rinky dink town smh! Shoot, I could come 10x closer to hurting somebody else, versus myself.... Something stinks!

That would make sense. She would be part of the evidence against them and they may have went to her to try and get the money they felt they deserved and if she argued, they could have killed her and took it anyway. I doubt we'll ever know.

What if the two having the affair talked about having the wife killed. The husband would be out of town working as usual and know one would think he was in on it. When Stephens calls him after the plot failed he brushes her off saying they shouldn't be talking. She hired the hit and would be going to jail a really long time. Feeling she had been betrayed by him she shoots herself. This is just an idea of what could have happened I don't know for sure.
