How is it Tonys fault?????? He asked more than once for help with the jail almost every time Fiscal Court was going on but dumb azzes like Roger Phillips would bitc* and complain and if you remember Roger was one of the STUPID ones who almost got the County sued again.......STUPID!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it was stupid azz members like Roger Phillips and Doug Stephens that failed to send in a corrective action plan into DOA twice, failed to work within his budget, report all escapes, and failed to be an effective adminstrator.

No, I have never worked at the jail and have never been fired by Tony. But I do try to keep up on all of the facts of a situation. Failing to do those things is what contributed to the jail closing. If Tony had worked within his budget, filed the corrective action plans that was requested by DOC, and reported escapes according to the law, then he would probably still be the jailer of an operating jail. In reality, Doug and Roger (who aren't my relatives) did not make the above decisions. How the alcohol sale relates to this is an enigma.

Tony asked for help from the court with things at the jail and was told time and time again no. He started the canten at the jail to help with running of the jail and the court told him that money was to be turned over to them so they could hand it out, what they really wanted was to put it in their pockets.....

we have no jail because the people who run this county didnt want to help. if you have noticed the have done nothing to help this county just hurt it, McCREARY COUNTY FISCAL COURT APPROVES CHANGE TO OCCUPATIONAL TAX
Meeting in regular session last Thursday the McCreary County Fiscal Court voted to approve a change to the county’s occupational tax ordinance related to the way funds are distributed from the tax. All court members agreed that the change, placing 100% of the tax revenue in the General Fund from which it could disbursed as needed, was a necessary action due to the county’s financial strain currently being experienced. The county has struggled to pay even basic bills recently due to a major shortfall in funds in the General Fund. One issue raised on the change to the tax came from Magistrates Jason Mann and Frankie Ball who both said citizens had asked them if the change would be permanent or only a temporary fix to allow the county to get back on track financially at which time the percentages for the tax disbursement could be put back in place. It was explained that the court can examine and make changes to the tax ordinance at any time with a first and second reading, but the idea of including what is often referred to as a “sunset clause” was discussed. This would allow a set date to be placed into the ordinance for its expiration which would force the court to revisit the issue at that time. In the end, the court opted to leave the expiration date out of the ordinance and approved the change with Magistrate Mann casting the lone dissenting vote, saying he felt strongly that the court needed a date to force looking at the issue again. County leaders, including Judge Executive Doug Stephens, noted that commitments already made to services like the park, law enforcement, economic development and the ambulance service will still have to be met by the county even if a specific percentage of occupational tax funds are not dedicated to those areas. The new tax ordinance can be downloaded and viewed through the county website by going to tax.mccrearycounty.com . How does that sound to you sounds to me like we dont have a say in how our tax money is spent they do as they please......

You want facts? Go see your County Finance Officer. She will show you the receipts for over $407,000 deposited into the jail budget between July 1, 2012 and the jail closure in January 2013. These are facts. She can also show you where the money was spent, with a detailed description of every penny spent. You can also call The Voice, they have my copies of these documents in case you don't want to go to the courthouse. I've already checked "my facts." Prove me wrong.

All I know is I seen the deposits, and the invoices for the payments made. He had received $407,000.00 of his budgeted $830,000.00 for the fiscal year. As Vote Yes said prove me wrong then.
