Vice President-elect Joe Biden on Friday announced the creation of a new post under his office, and the appointment of pro-labor economist Jared Bernstein, to help the incoming administration fix the economy.

Everyone should plan for job loss. No job is ever guaranteed for life. That's why financial experts recommend having three to six months living expenses set aside. I would go so far as to say people should have one to two years living expenses saved. When I was a kid, my family experienced some hard times. We did without for a while and it didn't hurt us a bit. We actually grew up better because of it. We learned the value of money and what was really important in life. Maybe it sounds mean but, oh well.
