It sounds like a horrible, grueling trip, planning to send men in their 80s to Washington DC and back in a day. I have to wonder whether this isn't more about Bill Mattiace getting a chance to grandstand than it is about the vets seeing the monument in a relaxed way so that they can really appreciate it.

Yes, it is a grueling trip, but these folks have the will and desire to go. They know it is going to be tough.

They are called the 'Greatest Generation' for a reason.

Now, I believe the costs for the guardians are hugely overprices. A guardian needs to come up with approximately $1200.

Tell you what Wanda, not sure what kind of profit you are making, but I can fly to Washington DC, stay in a downtown hotel and pay for my meals for closer to $750.

Action Travel needs to be forthright and publicly show these costs.

Noted that the LC Sun-News could not even send a photographer to the meeting.

That is the same photo they used for the first Honor Flight.

Yes, I can tell. I recognize at least 2 of the folks in the photo as Veterans of HF1.

If you look at the caption for the photo, it says last year's meeting.

I've seen the program on CLCTV about last year's trip - absolutely wonderful that these men and women are able to see their monument. I hope that the funds are raised in time.
