Well Chief, if you are actually reading this, good luck to you. There's quality men and women in that department that need solid leadership, and you look like you could be the guy. Word to the wise though, don't read these comments too often. Most the people that will post comments about you have way too much time on their hands and live for drama. Don't get caught up in their soap operas. If they had half a spine, they'd come talk to you, but you can be assured that will never happen. Congratulations, and glad to have you around!

Oh looks like he might be able to write a grant or connections to get some of those nice silver suits to fight aircraft fires. That would be great to have on hand. Also he can get with the schools and public and get some plans going for the fun little emergencies we seem to have now and then. Welcome and you seem to be very qualified and just plan your life around... windy days, full moons, fridays ssi payday's, and call Murphy and see what law's apply to Oroville. Best of luck and go for it...

Sounds like we have a well qualified and experienced fire chief. In the past, the city hasn't ensured they hire or promote the most qualified people to top positions. Maybe City Council has learned something.
But chief don't forget about informing the general public about what's going on. When there's a fire, we want to know what caused it. The same applies to accidents and disasters like the airplane crash.
Don't be sucked into the city's general policy of keeping everything under wraps.
You work for City Council and administration, but ultimately you work for us.
