He was running away from a traffic stop and had a large amount of money in his wallet and "narcotics" in his car, according to the scanner. It provided entertainment for a large crowd as the paramedics attempted to get him out of the car, though.

I think you better check your facts not all this is true not everything that reads on the scanner is the right information for the WHOLE case, have you talked to any of the investigating teams about the narcotics and do you even know if there was an investigating team to prove he had narcotics?

Right!
I also go to the city council meetings and they talked about the felony charges the city was going to have to pursue at the last meeting.
Of course everything you hear on the scanner is updated at a trial if there is one, but I think there's more here than meets the eye. Why would he run from a routine traffic stop anyway unless he had something to hide?
Just wondering who else drives around small towns with a "pimpmobile" type of car? Not the grannies and grampaws, for sure.

well I was not saying anything to rile your fur, it so happens I was in town the night of the acciedent, I was also a viewer of the accident, and stayed to see the whole seen unfold and I dont think that a spoiler on the car intitals it to be a pimp mobil. but it is obvious that if anyone makes a direct comment that conflicts with your opinion you are ready with a defensive agressive comback you know not everyone is out to attack you!! try being a little more gentle and you might not get so many negitive response's arent you all about peace and not war? I now about some of the troubles that have come your way, and alot you have the right to be upset at, but you have to relize Republic has children, teens and yes mischief but at least you dont have gangs and drive by shootings and such at least you can feel safe to walk around your streets after dark, that is a blessing in most citys you will always have something to fear. but if you want a town of grandma and granpas I dont know of any unless you move to a retirement community. try to be more peacful instead of thinking everyone is out to get you and put you down as is not the case here just making a comment as you do all the time I was just saying full details of the case should be summited in an article not just heresay or ones opinion I think that if it where you in the situation you would like the same curtosy extended to you thats all.

Hey Lou, you're right!
I'm a curmudgeon, no doubt about it!
Sorry if I offended you with my sarcasm, but that's just the way I am and maybe it just comes out more online. I rub a lot of people the wrong way, that's for sure. ;-)
As for the true facts of the case, I was listening to the scanner when Ken the town police guy made the traffic stop, and the guy drove away. That's why he had an accident.
Everything afterward was the guy's own fault, near as I see it.
I don't report to any newspapers like Brenda Starkey does for the Chronicle about local Republic news. If you were there you probably saw me on my bicycle taking pictures.
One thing for sure, the guy screwed up and crunched a perfectly good Maxima as well as the other person's Chevy pickup.
And if it didn't get talked about here, where else would it get talked about? Did you know the driver, perhaps?
Republic and Ferry County in general already has a 25% disability rate for the general population, so in a way it already is a retirement community/county.
Best regards
