It is a shame that Buy the Book in Renton for the last 32 years, is allowed to disapear without any comments from the City of Renton or anyone for that matter. This is a sign of our times that the small independent businesses are more of an inconvenience than a convenience.
Why do people who never bother to support small business always say "I love this place, I wish you were not closing" then they walk out without even helping the business owner squeeze out a piece of the value of their inventory.
In a recent conversation with Lee and Phil Cane, owners of Buy the Book for the past 9 years they expressed disapointment in the lack of interest in the loss of their business. They have tried to save the book shop for the benefit of the citizens of Renton, while not even coming close to make ends meet.
I for one have shopped in this wonderful little piece of Renton history, I will greatly miss the shop and the spirited cponversations with the owners.
I feel sorry for everyone that has no idea what they have lost! Best wishes Lee and Phil, I will miss you.

What are you doing with the inventory you don't sell?? For the right price I would be interested in acquiring it, I live within driving distance. [email protected]
