I hope you are joking... I'm talking about the rocker, the shocker, the King of All Media, and my close personal friend, Howard Stern.

He's on satellite radio... a PAY service, and has almost 20 million listeners. That makes him second only to Rush Limbaugh... who is on free radio.

I highly doubt that.. This from Arbitron ratings web Site

Winter 1998
Thanks to JS for sending this in.

Howard's winter ratings just came in for Rochester, NY, Howard's toughest market so far.
Its been 6 years in the making..........
Howard Stern..8.1
Brother Wease....8.0
Howard is the first person to tumble Wease who has been on top for 14 years.

Thanks to Roger for this additional info...

The Rochester Democrat And Chronicle says...

Howard Stern, the nationally syndicated shock-jock, has edged out local morning radio star Brother Wease for the first time ever among listeners 12 and older, according to the lastest ratings from Arbitron Co. Stern, who crowed about his numbers on the air, also beat Wease among Stern's target audience-men ages 18 to 34. But Stern was helped by uncharacteristically weak ratings for Wease who still handily beat Stern among his target audience-persons ages 25 to 54.

Mop the floor? Hardly. He beat him by .1 of a percent and took six years to do it

Why is a thread about some local guy from Rochester that no one has ever heard of in the Albany forum?

Using Howard Stern's audience as a guide, I estimate that there are about 20 million idiots in America.

I understand why kids listen to him; I listened to a lot of childish, stupid crap when I was a kid. But adults?

Seriously; if you're over the age of 16 and you find Howard Stern entertaining, you are most definitely developmentally-delayed.

If you're over the age of 16 and you've uttered the phrase "Howard Stern is the man!", you're an idiot.

He's the voice of Satan leading our youth to the land of perdition, the land of free sex, drugs and drunkiness.Oh if only he would die and go to on to hell.He could meet his devil that he works so hard for and leads the young astray to all whoredoms and against the word of Our Lord.God hates him and damns his soul to hell for the hurtful lies he told.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I doubt too many people UNDER the age of 16 listen to Howard Stern. His key demographic is probably guys between the ages of 28-50.
