i when to edison job corps center after i graduated from high school. In edison job corp i lern how to speak inglish because i came from puerto rico and i did not speak any inglish. I also lern how to be a carpenter and thanks to the education i received in job corps i was able to join the union carpenter and make a dicent living for me and my family. I met my wife in job corp and have 4 children. So as you see i own job corp more than i will be able to pay to them

To put it simply, it is like going to High School with the only difference being that you have to deal and live with the people you like and dislike after school is done.

If possible become a non-res student. It cuts out so much of the crap that the students and some of the staff will give you.

As a parent I would advise that you avoid this option as much as possible. I have a daughter there and the truth is that she is exposed to so many distractions most of them negative that she is breaking down instead of building up like we intended to. No security, no rules enforcement, no respect for the program and very under staffed. Right now it's 1:30 AM and nobody can tell me where she is (not in dorm, not in campus). Worst thing is she's a minor! Job Corps turned out to be a do what you want school funded by the government. Worst than any High School, curfew is at 11:30 PM,,no kidding!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that this campus is the Edison, NJ one. Still, I heards that the same situation applies to all centers. This program needs a total innovation. Without some improvement this will be closed soon (should be!)

School is very unorganized . Ghetto mis leading . Fights in dorms STD rate is high. Students hooking up in the back of medical marijuana rate is incredable horrible security & the list goes on and on . Dont go there !

hello im currently a student from edison jobcorp.i do however agree to the high criminal ratings that the school have.Theres constant dis-respect and lack of communication within the student and teachers faculty, theres constant drug use in the school and off the school.

Job corp house's hundreds of "the un-wanted" from society aswell as criminals, with the soul purpose of helping them,BUT "you could lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink".I've noticed that alot of people who are "fresh out of the real world" would enroll thinking positively with a one track mind to success, and after time would get distracted by the negativity that surrounds the campus.

alot of my friends werent able to go to advance training because they decided to no longer help them, they were forced off campus with no where to go after they graduated, they didnt help them with a job or collage after they completed their education.

job corp only cares about how much money they'er going to make with you being that they make an estimate of 29 thausand dollers per student who's enrolled for 60 days, after the 60 days they dont care about you and would mis-treat you.i advise that you should look else where, let jobcorp be your last resort.

I don't know arount Woodstock Job Cor, but Edison Job Corps is very poor. The placement is not good at all. I took carpentey and electrical trade. I finished both classes at the top of my class. After eight months still no placement.
