Gean Marie Paulson Gustafson died on May 14, 2007 at the age of 98.

She was born near Bergen, ND, raised in Aurelia, IA, and lived in the Chicago area from the time of her marriage in 1930?. She was a teacher all her life and a constant learner as well. She finished her bachelor's degree from Roosevelt University at the age of 54 and went into the Peace Corp at the age of 56 to teach English in Addis Ababa.

A small town girl at heart, she never stopped believing that other people were as good as she was. She was unfailingly giving, had a sly sense of humor, and was invariably called a "sweetheart" by people she met.

She will be missed very much by her children, Robert of Chicago, and Susan of New York, and relatives and friends around the country.
