BJ Barnes has less of the county to keep safe due to annexations over the last 2 decades...yet he continues to increase taxpayer funding to his department. He will be known as the 2 decade sheriff who only accomplished a jail not being built. Phil will keep us safe and lower our taxes

what we don't need is a liberal. Our judicial system as it is now gives the criminal freedom and the victim no sympathy.

County's population rate has is up since Barnes became sheriff. Annexation may have occurred, but crime is still ongoing. Plus you have to consider the sheriff's office has many more roles than city police department's with the courts, civil process and more.

The arrogance of BJ Barnes website. He didn't even give info as to what he stands for. I also don't like that they think they know who burned down EGHS, but are not going to pursue it. Sounds like a friend of a friends kid did it. Shady!

I'm a Democrat, and I'm going to support BJ Barnes again. Without his leadership there wouldn't be a new city/county jail facility built to relieve the overcrowded old one we have now. We needed the bond referendum to be approved so that it would be possible, as Greensboro continues to grow.

BJ Barnes will win his race hands down, what you people have to understand he is in the political machine as they say and he will continue to reside in the Sheriff's office. Is this a good thing well the only way to remove people from the political machine is to put forth another candidate worthy of the cause and right now I see neither a cause or a person considered worthy so pencil it in your books BJ will remain Sheriff is this a bad thing well really no one knows til you get to the next guy and then you might have wished Ol BJ was Sheriff once again. Morale of the story be happy with what you have cause alot worse could come and if and when it does you might catch yourself saying I wish BJ was still Sheriff....................

He was the sitting Sheriff when I got my firearm permit, it's valid as long as he's in office. Otherwise, I'll have to get another, if a new sheriff comes to town. :)
