Normal people would see the story and think the issue is that somebody was arrested with a large amount of drugs. Their immigration status would be a minor footnote if anything. The lunatic fringe on the other hand looks past the whole drug thing to focus on a documentation issue.

A perfect example of focusing on the unimportant issues. Drug use by good old Americans is the real problem here.

You don't really understand the whole supply and demand thing do you?

Without the demand, there is no supply.

Interesting logic! Why isn't Canada doing this?

Question: So nobody smokes weed or uses drugs in mexico?

You say that drug use by good old Americans is the real problem here, meaning that since Americans are drug users, mexicans are merely taking advantage of an opportunity, and it's all our fault.

My question asked about why didn't we have Canada's involvement since this was such a lucrative opportunity...meaning, Canadians are of a more highly evolved country and don't base their economy on selling drugs to American.

The question re drug use in mexico was asked because this stuff is also produced to benenfit from the mexican use as well. We so often omit the fact that mexico his its own drug problems as well.

If Canada had the same climate as Mexico they may be growing more pot, but it is not easy to grow pot outdoors in a Canadian winter.

Canada does do a thriving drug business though. Particularly in British Columbia.

I kind of doubt anybody is growing pot in the US in order to smuggle it into Mexico. That would make no sense.

When it comes to US drug use you are correct when you say that "Mexicans are merely taking advantage of an opportunity, and it's all our fault".
